摘要: The present invention provides a liquid application device and an ink jet recording apparatus each capable of reducing deterioration in application quality due to an increase in the number of times of use of a roller, thereby improving durability. The present invention includes an application roller which applies liquid to an application medium, and a liquid retention member which retains the liquid in a liquid retention space formed by making the application roller be in contact with the retention member. With this structure, a pool of the liquid is formed, with rotation of the application roller, in an area upstream of a contact area, in a rotational direction, between the application member and the retention member at a side where a surface of the application member enters the contact area therebetween.

Moreover, the device includes first and second channels linking the buffer tank and the space-creating base, a pump arranged in the second channel, and a third channel linking a T-shaped channel and an exchange tank. Furthermore, the device includes a first valve which switches shutoff and link between first and second tubes, and a third valve which switches shutoff and link between third and fourth tubes.

摘要: A liquid applying apparatus can prevent an applying liquid from evaporating while an applying operation is stopped and can reliably prevent the liquid from leaking even when, for example, the posture of the apparatus is tilted. An abutting member of a holding member is abutted, under an urging force of a spring, against an applying surface of an applying roller. Thus, a liquid holding space is formed between the applying roller and a holding member to hold the applying liquid. The abutting member is annularly formed of a single member. The applying roller rotates to cause the applying liquid held in the holding space to adhere to an outer peripheral surface of the applying roller. The applying liquid is then applied to the applying medium.

摘要: The present invention provides a liquid application device and an inkjet recording apparatus which are capable of reducing harmful effects resulting from an increase in the number of times of using an application member (for example, a roller). An embodiment of the present invention includes: a supply port for supplying application liquid to a liquid retention space; and a collection port for collecting the application liquid from the liquid retention space, wherein the liquid is applied by a application member in a state where a negative pressure of the collection port is larger than that of the supply port. In such a configuration, the liquid supply port is arranged at a position relatively close to a transferring reference, and the liquid collection port is arranged at a position relatively far from the transferring reference.

摘要: In an ink jet printing apparatus using many types of inks to execute bidirectional printing, if ejection opening rows for yellow, magenta, and cyan inks are symmetrically arranged, ejection opening rows for a black ink are arranged adjacent to the most inside ejection opening rows for the yellow ink. Thus, a difference in color between forward scanning and backward scanning is determined by a difference in coloring between the black ink and the yellow ink. In this case, a possible color drift attributed to bidirectional printing can be suppressed by selecting the inks so that the difference in coloring between the black ink and the yellow ink is smaller than that between the black ink and the other color inks.

摘要: The present invention provides a liquid application device and an inkjet recording apparatus, which are capable of supplying liquid to a liquid room with the power consumption and/or the noise which are reduced. A pump is driven to fill a liquid retention space S with an application liquid. When the filling has been completed, the pump is stopped. Subsequently, the application liquid is applied to an application medium which has been transferred. At this time, a count in a RAM is increased. Thereafter, the determination as to whether or not the application can be carried out is made on the basis of the count and the prescribed application-performable number of sheets stored in a ROM. If it is determined that the application cannot be carried out, the filling of the application liquid is performed. If it is determined that the application can be carried out, next application is performed.

摘要: For a liquid applying mechanism of an ink jet printing apparatus, a liquid to be used for application to a medium is prevented from evaporating and leaking from a liquid holding member. An applying roller and the liquid holding member contact with each other to hold the liquid and apply the held liquid to a printing medium by way of the applying roller. In this configuration, the surface of the applying roller has no irregularities. Thereby, the applying roller can contact the liquid holding member to form an adequate liquid-tight seal therebetween.

According to the present invention, a liquid holding space in which a liquid is held is formed between the applying member and the liquid holding member. The application amount of liquid applied to the applying medium varies depending on the individual variability of a component such as a liquid applying member. The variation in liquid application amount is adjusted by adjusting section for adjusting, the rotation speed of the liquid holding member or the flow speed of the liquid flowing through the liquid holding space.
