Abstract: An apparatus and a method capable of accurately recognizing that a person will appear on a road and certainly notifying the person that an autonomous moving body has recognized a place where the person will appear are disclosed. An apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure detects, as a recognition target, a person appearance area, in which a person will appear, formed by a recognition target presentation apparatus on a road and presents, to the person, a result of recognition indicating that the autonomous moving body has recognized the person appearance area as a result of the detection of the recognition target.

Abstract: An information processing method includes: obtaining, from a mobile object, (i) at least one of operation information of the mobile object and traveling information indicating a traveling route taken by the mobile object, and (ii) sensor data obtained by sensing of the traveling route using a sensor included in the mobile object; causing a learning model to learn, using (i) the at least one of the operation information and the traveling information, and (ii) the sensor data as input, at least one of operation performed on and movement made by the mobile object using the sensor data obtained by sensing of the traveling route; generating, according to a number of times the learning model is trained, presentation information indicating the input required before the learning model completes learning about the traveling route; and causing a presentation device to present the presentation information.

Abstract: A demand prediction method using a computer includes calculating an error between a prediction value of an amount of a past demand and a measurement value of the amount of the past demand, the prediction value of the amount of the past demand being calculated by inputting a measurement value of a past explanatory variable to a prediction model that is constructed in accordance with a measurement value of an amount of a demand at a predetermined location and an explanatory variable that serves as an external factor that affects an increase or a decrease in the amount of the demand at the predetermined location, determining whether the calculated error is an abnormal value, acquiring a new explanatory variable if the error is determined to be the abnormal value, updating the prediction model in accordance with the acquired new explanatory variable, and newly predicting an amount of a future demand using the updated prediction model.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus obtains, from a right/left-turn vehicle, first obtaining information for providing an instruction to sense a blind-spot area of the right/left-turn vehicle, and determines whether to sense the blind-spot area on the basis of the first obtaining information. The information processing apparatus further obtains second obtaining information for determining a blind-spot area of the right/left-turn vehicle that is determined to be sensed, and generates first control information for controlling sensing of the blind-spot area determined from the obtained second obtaining information. Then, information processing apparatus outputs the first control information to a sensor or a first device, and outputs a sensing result received from the sensor or the first device to a second device or outputs to the first device the first control information and information for providing an instruction to output the sensing result to the second device.

Abstract: A controller that controls driving of an autonomously moving vehicle includes a first sensor that detects an obstacle and a direction of travel of the vehicle, and a processor that sets a virtual region surrounding the vehicle. Processor stops the vehicle when the obstacle is detected therein, determines whether the obstacle is present in the direction of travel, determines whether the vehicle has been stopped for a predetermined amount of time when the obstacle is present, reduces a length of the virtual region in the direction of travel to provide an adjusted virtual region when the vehicle is determined to have been stopped for the predetermined amount of time, causes the vehicle to drive when the obstacle is not detected within the adjusted virtual region, and stops the vehicle when the obstacle is detected within the adjusted virtual region.
