Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for covering an elastane yarn stretched by three to five times, with a covering yarn, characterised in that it consists:in a first phase, in covering the drawn elastane yarn with the covering yarn with a twist of the order of one third the usual twist of single-covering, and in receiving this covered yarn on a bobbin, then, in a second phase, in taking up this bobbin of covered yarn on a twisting member to communicate thereto an additional twist until a twist which is equal to the usual twist of single-covering is obtained on this yarn.
Abstract:
An apparatus and process for continuous production of a covered elastane-based yarn is shown in which a partially stretched multi-filament yarn is twisted about a tensioned bare elastane yarn, at less than 500 revolutions per meter, and then heated and stretched again to complete the residual stretching of both parts of the covered yarn.
Abstract:
There is provided a new wrapped textile thread which includes a core made of threads arranged considerably parallel to each other. The core is covered by a wrapping thread which winds in a single turn, forming a regular and joined spiral around the core. This textile thread is characterized by the fact that at least one part of the peripheral surface of the core is joined together by heat sealing with the wrapping of winding thread. The textile thread is useful in textile materials which require a very good resistance against abrasion.

Abstract:
The invention concerns an improved process for the manufacture of a fancy yarn, in particular of the crepe effect and of the kind where a multifilamentary yarn is overtwisted, then subjected to a false-twist texturing treatment carried out in the same twisting direction as the overtwist, which is characterized in that the basic multifilamentary yarn is a partly stretched synthetic yarn, and the complementary stretching is carried out simultaneously with the false-twist texturing.
Abstract:
A fancy-type fabric applicable in particular as a coating substrate and of the kind comprising an alternation of warp and filling threads of different colors, the effects being achieved at the interlacing points of two threads of the same color. The fabric is characterized in that the threads forming the effect consist of wrap threads of a stable circular cross-section and which create floats where they cross on the right fabric side.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a rigid, perforated cloth wherein the cloth is woven, in both the warp and weft directions of core yarns wrapped with a thermoplastic covering yarn. After weaving, the cloth is subjected to heating at a temperature greater than the melting point of the thermoplastic covering yarn. The cloth is thereafter cooled, thereby imparting rigidity to the perforated cloth. The product of the present invention is a rigid, perforated cloth in which the individual yarns of the cloth comprise a core yarn that is covered with a thermoplastic cover. The rigid, perforated cloth displays reinforced structural networks due to the plasticity of the thermoplastic material and enhanced resistance to physical and chemical degradation.
