Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may select one or more sub-bands, of a plurality of sub-bands in a wideband structure of an unlicensed spectrum, for processing in association with receiving a reference signal. The one or more sub-bands may include at least one valid sub-band of a set of valid sub-bands in which the reference signal is received. The user equipment may process the one or more sub-bands in association with receiving the reference signal. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for determining whether a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) is to be transmitted, and a configuration for transmission of the CSI-RS on a wideband based on an outcome of a listen-before-talk (LBT) operation in multiple sub-bands of the wideband. In one aspect, a base station may transmit sub-band usage information indicating sub-band availability before the CSI-RS, thereby allowing a user equipment (UE) to determine whether the CSI-RS will be transmitted and, if so, on which sub-bands the CSI-RS will be transmitted. Furthermore, rate matching configurations are provided based on whether sub-band usage has been received, based on which sub-bands are available. Still further, power configurations and resource element selection criteria are provided for wideband CSI-RS and CSI feedback.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and base station may communicate in on a wireless channel of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The base station may transmit synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) in a discovery reference signal (DRS) slot. The base station may multiplex a channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS). The base station may multiplex an aperiodic CSI-RS or a periodic CSI-RS with the SSBs in the DRS slot. For an aperiodic CSI-RS, the base station may separately trigger the CSI-RS measurement and CSI-RS reporting. For periodic CSI-RS, the base station may transmit an indication of whether the periodic CSI-RS is present.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described where a system bandwidth within a shared radio frequency spectrum band may be divided into multiple sub-bands. A base station may use a fallback downlink control information format to provide a resource grant to a user equipment, where the fallback downlink control information has a predetermined number of bits. To provide an indication of one or more of the sub-bands that are to be used for uplink communications when using fallback downlink control information, an explicit or implicit indication may be provided. Such sub-band indication may allow for the user equipment to use a particular sub-band that is available for transmissions in a shared radio frequency spectrum band. Indications of one or more sub-bands may be provided explicitly by a sub-band indication field in a fallback downlink control information, or implicitly by one or more downlink transmissions of a base station.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for the identification of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource. In some aspects, a UE that receives the CSI-RS may determine CSI feedback based at least in part on the CSI-RS after detecting the CSI-RS resource that includes the CSI-RS. Signaling or techniques for when no CSI-RS is detected (such as when the base station fails a channel access operation for all available CSI-RS resources) are also provided. Furthermore, approaches for rate matching for a shared channel around CSI-RS resources or for CSI interference management (CSI-IM) resources are provided, as well as CSI reporting approaches for cases when the UE fails to transmit CSI feedback due to a failed channel access operation, such as a triggered or re-triggered CSI report.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for listen-before-talk (LBT) failure-based channel congestion measurement and recovery triggering. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine an LBT metric based on a result of attempting to perform an uplink transmission in connection with an LBT procedure. For example, the UE may determine an absolute quantity of LBT failures, a ratio of unsuccessful uplink transmissions to total uplink transmission attempts, an absolute quantity of LBT successes, or another type of LBT metric. The UE may trigger a recovery action, such as a radio link failure (RLF) recovery action or a bandwidth part switch, based on determining that the LBT metric satisfies a threshold.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to receiving multiple synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) from a target cell over a measurement time window. A repeating beam index for one or more of the multiple SSBs can be identified based at least in part on a determination of a repeat parameter indicating a number of beams in a SSB pattern for the target cell. A beam set of the one or more of the multiple SSBs determined to have the same repeating beam index can be associated. One or more parameters of the one or more of the multiple SSBs of the beam set can be measured and reported.
