An analysis system for analyzing biological samples, such as body fluids, methods implemented by the analysis system, and a computer program product for implementing the analysis system are disclosed. The system may include first and second lab devices, at least one of the lab devices may have a user identification component for identifying a user, a device identification component for identifying the lab device, and an interface component for sending a user identifier of the identified user and a device identifier of the lab device. The system may include a server computer having a server interface component for receiving the user identifier and the device identifier, and a processing component for determining a step of a workflow to be executed by the identified user, wherein the server interface component is operable to send a signal being indicative of a determined workflow to the lab device identified by the device identifier.

The method comprises receiving identification data identifying a user; receiving identity confirmation data to authenticate the user; and generating authentication data upon successful authentication of the user. The authentication data is configured to enable authentication of the user based on only the identification data during a validity time period without repeated receipt of the identity confirmation data. The method further comprises receiving the identification data by an identification unit; validating the authentication data corresponding to the identification data comprising the step of verifying non-expiry of the validity time period; and granting authorization to the user for the laboratory device upon successful validation of the authentication data.

A method implemented by an analysis system is presented. The method comprises receiving task data objects. At least some of the received task data objects are aggregated into aggregated task data object groups. All task data objects belonging to the same aggregated task data object group share at least one step of a task. A selectable aggregation GUI element is specified for each of the aggregated task data object groups. The aggregation GUI elements are displayed in an aggregated view on a graphical user interface. Upon selection of one of the aggregation GUI elements by a user, the aggregated task data object group represented by the selected aggregation GUI element is selected and the user access to program instructions for executing the shared step of the selected aggregated task data object group is automatically provided.
