Abstract: A method for touch input and a touch display device using the same are provided. The method for touch input includes: if a touch of an object with respect to the touch display device is detected, determining a contact area of the object touching on the touch display device; determining an input function corresponding to the contact area of the object; and if a touch input by the object is received, executing an input operation based on the determined input function corresponding to the contact area of the object. Accordingly, the user may execute a variety of input operations based on various input functions, by touch inputs using a variety of objects, without having to display an input function change menu.
