    Abstract: A liquid crystal projector includes a red liquid crystal panel, a green liquid crystal panel, a blue liquid crystal panel, a green liquid crystal panel, an optical shift element configured to shift an emission optical path of a synthesized image of each liquid crystal panel, and a control circuit configured to control these. The control circuit controls the optical shift element to set a projection position to a projection position (A) in a subframe f1 and to a projection position (B) in a subframe f2. The control circuit causes a resolution of the liquid crystal panel expressed in the subframes f1 and f2 to be lower than the resolution of the liquid crystal panel expressed in the subframes f1 and f2.

    Abstract: A projection-type display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel including a panel pixel, an optical path shifting element that shifts a projected pixel projected from the panel pixel, and a display control circuit that controls the liquid crystal panel and the optical path shifting element.     Abstract: In a liquid crystal projector, in a first liquid crystal panel corresponding to a first color, a gray scale level specified by video data specifies a first value in a first field, and a second value in a second field subsequent to the first field, and in a second liquid crystal panel corresponding to a second color, a gray scale level specified by the video data specifies the first value in the first field, and the second value in the second field. When optical responsiveness of the first liquid crystal panel is better than optical responsiveness of the second liquid crystal panel, in the second field, a liquid crystal voltage applied to the first liquid crystal panel is smaller than a liquid crystal voltage applied to the second liquid crystal panel.
