    Abstract: An apparatus and method for modelling a random process using reduced length least-squares autoregressive parameter estimation is herein disclosed. The apparatus includes an autocorrelation processor, configured to generate or estimate autocorrelations of length m for a stochastic process, where m is an integer; and a least-squares (LS) estimation processor connected to the autocorrelation processor and configured to model the stochastic process by estimating pth order autoregressive (AR) parameters using LS regression, where p is an integer much less than m. The method includes generating, by an autocorrelation processor, autocorrelations of length m for a stochastic process, where m is an integer; and modelling the stochastic process, by a least-squares estimation processor, by estimating pth order autoregressive (AR) parameters by least-squares (LS) regression, where p is an integer much less than m.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) for channel estimation in a high-speed single-frequency network (HS-SFN) is provided. The UE includes at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium; and at least one processor, which, when executing instructions stored on the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium, causes the UE to perform a method including calculating an estimated frequency offset (FO) correction for a received signal using at least an FO estimation generated by an automatic frequency control (AFC) module using at least a previously-calculated channel estimate output from a channel estimator (CE) as input in a first feedback loop; and calculating, by the CE, a current channel estimate using at least the received signal adjusted by the estimated FO correction from the first feedback loop and one or more channel parameter estimates generated by the AFC using at least the previously-calculated channel estimate output from the CE as input in a second feedback loop.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method of low complexity optimization solver for path smoothing with constraint variation are herein disclosed. According to one embodiment, an apparatus includes an L1 controller configured to receive a raw data series z to be smoothed, where L1 represents a formulation based on L1 norm cost, receives weights w0, w1, w2, and w3 to control smoothness of an output path, and formulate an L1 trend filtering problem; an L1 central processing unit (CPU) connected to the L1 controller and configured to transform the L1 trend filtering problem to a primal-dual linear programming (LP) optimization problem pair; and an L1 arithmetic logic unit (ALU) connected to the L1 CPU and configured to solve a primal problem of the primal-dual problem pair with an extended full tableau simplex method.
