Abstract: A head-up display system includes an image generating apparatus configured to emit light having a first polarization and including image information; a polarization beam splitter provided on an optical path of the light having the first polarization and configured to transmit the light having the first polarization; a wave plate configured to transmit the light transmitted through the polarization beam splitter while changing a phase of the light; and a mirror configured to reflect the light sequentially transmitted through the polarization beam splitter and the wave plate back to the polarization beam splitter through the wave plate. The polarization beam splitter may reflect light having a second polarization that is different from the first polarization and obtained by transmitting the light reflected by the mirror back through the wave plate.
