Provided is an acceleration sensor operating method of an electronic device. The method includes checking whether at least one movement generation means operates. The method also includes changing a sampling frequency of the acceleration sensor when the movement generation means operates. The method further includes receiving a sensor value of the acceleration sensor according to the changed sampling frequency.

A method for providing information associated with a target Bluetooth device. A first, search-attempting Bluetooth device sends an inquiry message for searching for a nearby target Bluetooth device. A target Bluetooth device responds by sending an inquiry response message including predefined information mark data. The first Bluetooth device extracts link information from the information mark data, and uses the link information to access information associated with the target Bluetooth device. If the link information includes a user manual link or an application link, after the first Bluetooth device and the target Bluetooth device are paired, the manual link or the application link are used for obtaining a manual associated with the target Bluetooth device or downloading an application associated with the target Bluetooth device.

The electronic device includes a communication unit for establishing a communication link with respect to at least one external electronic device, a sensor module configured to detect at least one piece of sensor data, and a controller configured to select at least one device for outputting a sound from at least one of the electronic device, and the external electronic device, the selection made on the basis of at least one of the at least one piece of sensor data detected through the sensor module, and situation information of the at least one external electronic device, in a state of being connected to the at least one external electronic device. An apparatus and a method of providing a Near Field Communication (NFC) function in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes recognizing a tag and reading an NFC message from the tag, storing second data in the memory when the NFC message includes first data of a predetermined record type, the second data corresponding to other data except for the first data among all data included in the NFC message, determining whether a particular application corresponding to the first data has been installed, and when the particular application has been installed, executing the particular application and providing the second data to the particular application so as to enable the particular application to execute a particular function by using the second data.
