    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Disclosed is a method of creating or updating an application context in a Multi-access Edge Computing, MEC, system, comprising the steps of: a) a device application posting a request to the MEC system to create or update the application context and to specify desired application location constraints; b) the MEC system authorising the request and creating or updating the application context in the MEC system and informing the device application accordingly; and c) the MEC system detecting a change in application location availability.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for managing an application instance by a multi-access edge computing orchestrator (MEO) in a multi-access edge computing (MEC) system in a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate, with the method including receiving, from an operational support system (OSS), an application instantiation request including a completion timer in which to finish the instantiation request; selecting at least one MEC platform manager (MEPM) for requesting the application instantiation; transmitting, to the selected MEPM, the application instantiation request; and transmitting, to the OSS, a response indicating that the application instantiation has failed, in case that the completion timer expires before receiving a configuration response from the selected MEPM.

    Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for deploying an Edge Device Network (EDN) is provided. The method comprises: receiving, by an Edge Computing Management Service Provider (ECMSP), an Edge Data Network (EDN) deployment request for creating an EDN instance associated with an EDNFunction class, wherein the EDN deployment request comprises one or more requirements associated with the EDN; identifying an EDNfunction Information Object Class (IOC) based on the one or more requirements included in the EDN deployment request; and deploying the EDN based on the identified EDNfunction IOC and the one or more requirements.
