Abstract: Systems and methods provide witness sled hardware installed in a chassis and updates to firmware used by the witness sled, where the updates are made using management resources of the chassis. A chassis may include data storage devices and Information Handling Systems (IHSs), each storing data redundantly to the storage devices, such in a vSAN. The witness sled provides witness functions, such arbitrating discrepancies in the redundantly stored data. The chassis includes a chassis management controller (CMC) that generates a mapping of baseline firmware in use by the witness sled. When a received firmware is an update to the baseline firmware and is not duplicative of a pending update, the CMC establishes a connection with a microcontroller of the witness sled over a management signaling pathway and transmits instructions and the received firmware update to the microcontroller, such that the programmed microcontroller updates the firmware of the witness sled.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for updating software loaded on a secure element, SE, which SE comprises an update agent handler, and an update agent. In a first step, a request to backup a current version of software loaded on the SE is received at the SE. The request is sent from a device, external to the SE. Upon receiving the backup request, the SE performs a secure backup of the current software version, and returns the software backup to the device, to be stored thereon. In a further step, the SE performs an update process of the current software version, to obtain an updated software version. If the update process fails, a rollback is performed at the SE to restore the software backup as a new current soft-ware version on the SE.

Abstract: Automatic caching for stateful applications can be implemented using aspect-oriented programming. In one example, a caching tool can detect, based on a selection from a client device, an update to a property of an instance of a software application. The caching tool can further identify a match between the update to the property and a predefined aspect. In response to the identifying the match, the caching tool may determine stateful information for the instance based on the selection from the client device. In response to determining the stateful information, the caching tool may automatically execute an asynchronous caching function to store, in a cache, the stateful information.

Abstract: Provided are systems, methods, and programming for facilitating real-time determination of a process completion likelihood. In some embodiments, data including an update to a system, the update occurring at a first time, wherein updates to the system are permitted until an expiration time may be obtained, a set of fixed descriptors of the system may be retrieved and/or received, and a set of status updates describing the system at prior times may be obtained. Based on the data, the fixed descriptors, and the status updates, using a trained machine learning model, a failure/success score indicating a likelihood that, at the expiration time, the system satisfies a threshold condition may be computed and stored in memory.

Abstract: System and methods are provided estimating long-term effects of system changes associated with a user interface without conducting long-term testing. In a first deployment region, a system change is released during a time period. A second deployment region does not have the system change released in the same time period. Historical data is received from both deployment regions associated with the time period. The user interface analysis system determines features from the historical data and determines a synthetic control sub-group from those features that correspond to features for a sub-group in the first deployment region. The user interface analysis system calculates a control outcome metric for the control sub-group and calculates an effect metric as a difference between a first outcome metric for the sub-group from the first deployment region and the control outcome metric.
