    Abstract: A method for selecting an item displayed on a display screen is provided. The method includes displaying a pointer on the screen, receiving an input of user manipulation to move the pointer displayed on the screen, and if the pointer moves closer to the item and if the pointer is placed without overlapping at least a part of the item, displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) indicating that it is possible to select the item with the pointer.
