Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes an image sensor including a plurality of unit pixels, each unit pixel including two or more individual pixels, and at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to acquire a first image frame from the image sensor, determine a photographing environment of the electronic device, based on the first image frame, and, in response to the photographing environment corresponding to a first photographing environment, control the image sensor to acquire analog data through the individual pixels, and provide first digital data digitally converted from the analog data with first sensitivity, and second digital data digitally converted from the analog data with second sensitivity which is higher than the first sensitivity, and acquire a second image frame which follows the first image frame, based on the first digital data and the second digital data.

The electronic device includes a camera with an image sensor including a plurality of image pixels arranged in a first direction and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, for converting light incident on a plurality of micro-lenses into an electrical signal, performing a first correlation calculation for phase difference detection in the first direction based on the electrical signal, and outputting image data including a first phase difference correlation calculation value, an ISP configured to perform a second correlation calculation for phase difference detection in the second direction using phase difference information about the image data, and a driver configured to adjust a focus of the camera based on the first phase difference correlation calculation value for the first direction and a second phase difference correlation calculation value for the second direction.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an electronic device may include an image sensor including a plurality of unit pixels, and at least one processor electrically connected with the image sensor. Each unit pixel may include PDs disposed under a micro lens and having a 2×2 arrangement, that is, a TL, a TR, a BL, and a BR. The at least one processor may acquire a first image frame from the image sensor, determine an operation mode of the image sensor based on the first image frame, and may perform AF of an H direction by using TL, BL, or TL+BL AF data and TR, BR, or TR+BR AF data, or may perform AF of a V direction by using TL, TR, or TL+TR AF data and BL, BR, or BL+BR AF data according to an operation mode of the image sensor. Various other embodiments understood through the specification are possible.
