The controlled-environment facility communications management system, and/or the like, takes action with respect to the electronic communication in response to identification of the telephone number as an IP telephone number.

Abstract: Multiple controlled-environment facility investigative data aggregation and analysis systems and methods capture a telephone number of a controlled-environment facility resident and/or a non-resident associated with the resident, such as by a controlled-environment facility communications management system. The captured telephone number is used to access a social media account of the resident or non-resident and information related to the resident is gathered from the accessed social media account. Gathered information is incorporated into the centralized investigative data aggregation analysis system for analysis, so as to provide investigative leads to users of the multiple controlled-environment facility investigative data aggregation and analysis system, such as via a web-based interface.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a database configured to store digital versions of physical or electronic items received at a controlled-environment facility. Each of the digital versions associated with a unique identifier. A digital network portal is configured to provide remote access to the database. A production system is configured to create physical or electronic copies of selected ones of the stored digital versions. The physical or electronic copy comprises an image of the original physical or electronic item and a two-dimensional barcode. The two-dimensional barcode comprises a network address for the digital network portal and the unique identifier. The two-dimensional barcode may comprise a Quick Response (QR) code.

Abstract: Controlled-environment facility resident pattern electronic communication detection systems and methods may employ a controlled-environment facility secure communication platform, an investigative data aggregation and analysis system, and/or the like. Controlled-environment facility individual resident outgoing electronic communication velocity is monitored. The individual resident outgoing electronic communication velocity may be the number of electronic communications placed by a controlled-environment facility resident, to telephone numbers and/or electronic communication addresses over a period of time. A sharp increase in outgoing electronic communication velocity for a particular controlled-environment facility resident over a relatively short period of time may be recognized and controlled-environment facility personnel of a controlled-environment facility in which the particular controlled-environment facility resident resides may be alerted that the particular resident is at risk of imminent danger, such as suicide, in response to recognition of the sharp increase in outgoing electronic communication velocity for the particular resident over the relatively short period of time.

Abstract: Methods and systems provide a controlled-environment facility communication system that provides regulated communication sessions between residents and non-residents. Via a supervisory system, a bypass may be authorized for exempting the communication session from various regulated aspects of sessions regulated by the communication system. For instance, a communication may be exempt from monitoring based on assertions that the communication is privileged. The communications system receives a request for a communication session with a non-resident at a first telephone number. If a communication session is authorized by a bypass authorization, the communication session is hosted, while exempt from the regulations specified by the bypass authorization. A monitoring system tracks the hosted bypass communication session by determining whether telephone numbers other than the first telephone number have been joined to the communication session. These joined telephone numbers may be used to identify unauthorized communications by the resident.
