    Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving from a telemetric apparatus carried by a first vehicle an identity of an operator of the first vehicle and kinematic data characterizing movement and first location of the first vehicle. At least one weather condition associated with the first location is received from a source of environmental data. At least one of terrain geometry of the first location, road speed limit at the first location, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) data generated by an instrument proximate the first location, and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) data generated by an instrument proximate the first location is received from a source of location-specific data. The data received by the first communication device is stored in a database. Data from the database is provided to at least one entity.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for controlling a vehicle based on motion or kinematic data received by a computer when the behavior of a driver is being monitored. These safety indices may optionally be weighted and combined into an overall safety score, grade, or index. The safety scores or indices may be used to generate a personalized speed threshold or acceleration threshold for a vehicle and/or a driver of the vehicle. Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may result in the speed of a vehicle being reduced, an increase in vehicle location accuracy, or functions such as headlights or windshield wipers or automated driving assistance being turned on to increase safety.

    Abstract: Driver safety, vehicle safety, and environment safety may be scored based on a variety of input data concerning a driver, a vehicle, or an environment in which the vehicle drives. An overall safety score may be generated based on at least some of these three scores. These scores may be compared to thresholds to trigger or initiate actions such as providing notifications to drivers, raising or reducing vehicle insurance rates, providing coupons and promotions to drivers, or limiting vehicle speed in a manner that is personalized to the driver and/or vehicle and/or environment.
