Abstract: Assigning carriers to radio ports communicably coupled to a corresponding plurality of antennae of a radio head, wherein the radio head is split into at least first and second split portions, determining a difference between a first power level available to the first carrier via the first set of radio ports and a second power level available to the second carrier via the second set of radio ports, and changing a split of the radio head such that the difference between the first and second power levels is minimized.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and processing nodes are configured to perform scheduling in a wireless network utilizing a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) operating mode, by determining that a throughput indicator of a sector meets a threshold, and adjusting a time window during which a first one or more wireless devices are removed from a MU-MIMO group and a second one or more wireless devices are added to the MU-MIMO group. The first one or more wireless devices comprise any wireless device that has a throughput below a threshold, and the second one or more wireless devices comprise any wireless device that has not been in the MU-MIMO group for a predefined time period.

Abstract: A system for selecting a sub-carrier spacing includes an access node configured to deploy a radio air interface to provide wireless services to a plurality of wireless devices. The access node includes a processor configured to determine a value of at least one parameter relating to at least one of radio frequency impairment, mobility, and service latency. The processor is also configured to compare the value of the at least one parameter with a predetermined threshold. The processor is further configured to select the sub-carrier spacing from a plurality of sub-carrier spacings based on a result of the comparison.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and processing nodes for performing uplink power control of a high-powered wireless device in a wireless network based on first determining that a wireless device is capable of operating in a high-powered transmission mode, performing real-time adjustments to one or both of a pathloss scaling parameter or a power headroom level scaling parameter associated with the high-powered wireless device, and instructing the high-powered wireless device to utilize a transmit power level based on the adjusted one or both of the pathloss scaling parameter or the power headroom level scaling parameter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and processing nodes for allocating resources to a control channel based on a number of wireless devices determined to be near a cell edge of an access node. An exemplary method for allocating resources to a control channel includes determining a number of wireless devices that are located near an edge of a coverage area of an access node, and adjusting an amount of resources scheduled in the control channel based on the determined number of wireless devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for donor access node (DeNB) selection at a relay access node (AN). A plurality of DeNBs may be identified, the DeNBs being located within a radio range of the relay AN. A metric may be calculated at the relay AN and used by the relay AN to select multiple, preferred DeNBs from the plurality of DeNBs. The relay AN may simultaneously request a connection to each of the multiple, preferred DeNBs. Data signals may be combined for transport at the relay AN and sent to end-user wireless devices, the multiple, preferred DeNBs, or both.
