Abstract: A system may include an access node to deploy a radio air interface to provide wireless services to one or more wireless devices. The access node may include processing circuitry. The processing circuitry of the access node may monitor an amount of packet drops at a shared network device of a dual connectivity access-node-pair. The processing circuitry of the access node may dynamically adjust one or more handover parameters based on the amount of packet drops at the shared network device. The handover parameters may be adjusted to inhibit handovers to the dual connectivity access-node-pair.

Abstract: Programmable network switches configured to perform various functions including session management, data processing, routing, and pipeline processing functions. Exemplary programmable network switches include pipeline processing components to transport data packets to network nodes, and data processing components to perform management functions including instructing the pipeline processing component how to transport the data packets. Auxiliary processing components can also be included to perform pre and post processing. The pipeline processing and auxiliary processing components can include ASICs, FPGAs, and other processors in any combination within a single rack mountable unit.

Abstract: Performing inter-band carrier aggregation based on device capability includes monitoring a dominant type of wireless devices in a wireless sector based on whether or not they are capable of inter-band carrier aggregation, and enabling or disabling inter-band carrier aggregation in the sector based on the dominant type. Enabling/disabling inter-band carrier aggregation can include allowing or preventing usage of usage of a low-frequency carrier as a primary component carrier aggregated with a high-frequency carrier as a secondary component carrier. Carriers using FDD and TDD duplexing modes are included.

Abstract: Systems for mitigating interference in a massive MIMO wireless network include an access node, a plurality of antennae communicatively coupled to the access node, and a processor communicatively coupled to the access node. The processor can be configured to perform operations including communicating with one or more wireless devices within a wireless sector utilizing one or more antennae from the plurality of antennae, and monitoring an interference level within the wireless sector. Upon the interference level meeting a threshold, the processor may be configured to utilize fewer antennae to communicate with the one or more wireless devices. Conversely, upon the interference level not meeting the threshold, the processor may be configured to utilize more antennae to communicate with the one or more wireless devices.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and processing nodes are configured to manage transmission characteristics in a wireless network, such as a wireless network that employs MIMO techniques, by identifying an undesired signal, the undesired signal originating from a communication device external to the wireless network and determining that a signal parameter value of the undesired signal exceeds a threshold value. An operating parameter of a multi-element antenna for communicating signals in the wireless network is adjusted when it is determined that the signal parameter value exceeds a threshold value.
