A machine for grinding ophthalmic lenses comprises a frame and a support to which an ophthalmic lens to be processed may be attached pivoted to the frame about an axis parallel to the axis of the grinding tool. A counterweight on the support is movable relative to the frame in a direction orthogonal to the pivot axis. A drive device controls movement of the counterweight. A guide cam is disposed on the path of movement of the counterweight. The machine may be used for trimming and/or bevelling or grooving an ophthalmic lens.

The present invention relates to microparticles containing an active principle against malaria, such as primaquine, one of its amino acid derivatives, or their conjugates with a hepatotropic vector or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, and a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer controlling the kinetics of release of the active principle, like (DL)polylactide. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising microcapsules according to the invention. Lastly, the invention relates to processes for the preparation of microparticles as mentioned above, the processes comprising: dissolving the polymer in a volatile solvent, adding to this solution the active principle and possibly a substance regulating the size of the microparticles, and at the end of evaporation, recovering the microparticles by centrifugation and filtration.

Once wheel wear is detected, the surface is renewed using an abrasive disk (9) fitted to the grinding machine in place of a lens in the gripping members. The invention also concerns a disk (9) for carrying out the method, with at least the peripheral surface consisting of abrasive material. A machine for gripping ophthalmic lenses and carrying out the method is also described.
