Abstract:
Printing ink compositions having excellent gloss, adhesion and scuff resistance on such substrates as paper, treated polyethylene, aluminum or glass have been formulated from inorganic salts of interpolymers of ethylene and an acrylic acid and pigments.
Abstract:
Water-soluble ammonium salts of ethylene-acrylic acid copolymers are used to coat or bond various substrates with water insoluble ethylene-acrylic acid copolymers by first applying the salt alone or with polyvinyl alcohol to the substrate from aqueous solutions or dispersions and then drying the treated substrate. During the drying step ammonia is evolved leaving the ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer on the substrate. This invention has been used to coat articles with a temporary coating, and to prepare floor polishes, paper coatings, non-woven fabrics and water-proof wood.
