Abstract:
To control secondary devices of a subscriber whose primary device is subscribed to a mobile network, a secondary mobile directory number (“MDN”) and secondary device identifiers are employed. After the primary device is rung, an Authentication and Call Waiting Engine receives a request from a Telephony Gateway to retrieve identifiers of any secondary devices that are linked to a primary MDN of the primary device. Next, the Authentication and Call Waiting Engine retrieves a secondary device identifier for each secondary device that is paired with the primary device by searching a secondary device identifier database with the primary MDN to find all linked secondary device identifiers. A rules database may be applied to exclude secondary device identifiers based on time of day and day of the week. The Authentication and Call Waiting Engine transmits the list of qualified secondary device identifiers to the Telephony Gateway for ringing.
Abstract:
A device may receive, from a first user device, a request to transmit a message to a user of a second user device. The request may include particular information indicating that content of the message is to be displayed to the user for a particular amount of time. The device may encrypt, based on receiving the request and using a key, the content of the message to obtain an encrypted message. The device may transmit the encrypted message to the second user device and receive, from the second user device, a request for the key. The device may transmit, to the second user device, the key and information identifying the particular amount of time to cause the second user device to decrypt the encrypted message, using the key, to obtain a decrypted message and cause the second user device to delete the decrypted message after the particular amount of time.

Abstract:
A first mobile device may receive, via a text messaging application, first location information from a second mobile device. The first location information may indicate a first geographic location of the second mobile device. The first mobile device may receive, via the text messaging application, second location information from the second mobile device. The second location information may indicate a second geographic location of the second mobile device. The first mobile device may generate, based on the first location information and the second location information, a graphical representation. The graphical representation may represent a movement of the second mobile device from the first geographic location to the second geographic location. The first mobile device may provide the graphical representation for display via a display associated with the first mobile device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for creating gift messages for sending to individuals via an existing messaging infrastructure are described. A gift provider system may receive a request for a gift catalog from a first user device. The gift provider system may provide an interactive gift catalog to the first user device that includes one or more gift cards available for purchase. The user of the first user device may select the amount of the gift card, create a personalized message for the gift card, select a recipient, and select graphics that may accompany the gift card. The gift provider system may create a gift message based on the purchased gift card and send the gift message to the recipient. The gift message may be sent as an MMS message and may include one or more codes that the recipient can use to redeem the gift card with a providing merchant.
