摘要： An improved apparatus for cooling hot pellets discharged from a kiln or the like with water is presented wherein the pellets are charged through a chute into a water cooling bath while avoiding oxidation thereof. The cooling bath is covered with a hood and the pressure difference between the chute and hood is controlled during the process.

摘要： A gasification and melting furnace for wastes has a vertically movable furnace center lance disposed along the axis of the furnace and adapted to blow off a combustion sustaining gas downward into the furnace. One or more stages of upper tuyeres are disposed so that the angle at which the combustion sustaining gas is blown off into the furnace is displaced from the furnace axis direction, and one or more stages of lower tuyeres projected into the furnace so as to blow off a combustion sustaining gas or both combustion sustaining gas and fuel toward the furnace axis. Formation of a low temperature region in the furnace are prevented and a fire spot is concentrated on the combustion of wastes. As a result, molten slag and various metals, as well as an energy gas, which are high in added value, can be recovered stably.

摘要： A method and apparatus is disclosed for maintaining the uniformity of a mixed dust slurry stored in a basin, the mixture comprising blast furnace dust slurry, steel furnace dust slurry (defined in the specification) and, if necessary, dry dust or filtrated cake and having a relatively high concentration -- 32% by weight or more -- of solids. The mixture in the storage basin is stirred or agitated by injecting gas or the liquid to be used in the mixture itself into the basin. The method and apparatus are utilized as a part of a system for manufacturing reduced pellets from the dust discharged in an iron foundry or steel mill.
