摘要： A filter-tipped cigarette having: a tobacco portion having an outer end and an inner end; a filter butt-connected to the inner end of the tobacco portion; a first sleeve wound about the tobacco portion and the filter to connect the filter permanently and non-detachably to the tobacco portion; a cap butt-connected to the outer end of the tobacco portion, at the opposite end from the filter, and removable to smoke the filter-tipped cigarette; and a second sleeve, which is wound about the cap and the tobacco portion, is integral with the cap, and is at least partly removable axially from the tobacco portion together with and to remove the cap.

摘要： A smoking article is formed from two component parts. These parts are a rod comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a removable cap. The removable cap can be coupled to the rod in two configurations. In a first configuration, the removable cap is coupled to a first end of the rod and a heat source located at or near a second end of the rod heats the aerosol-forming substrate to generate an inhalable aerosol. In a second configuration, the removable cap is coupled to the second end of the rod and at least substantially covers the heat source. The smoking article is arranged in the second configuration for disposal.

摘要： Filter cigarettes can be manufactured in a highly cost effective manner. Filter cigarettes include a tobacco rod having two segments of smokable material. The first segment is positioned at the lighting end of the cigarette and includes expensive, normally high quality tobaccos. The second segment is positioned at the filter end of the rod and includes cost effective smokable materials. A cellulose acetate filter element is axially aligned with the rod and is positioned adjacent to the second segment. Tipping material attaches the filter element to the tobacco rod. The second segment extends along the rod up to about 20 mm past the foremost point which the tipping material extends. The combined longitudinal length of the filter element and the second segment extends up to about 60 percent of the total length of the smoking article.

摘要： A cigarette filter which can be adapted to any kind of cigarette, regular or filter, and be torn off if desired. It could be used for filtering smoke and selectively diluting said smoke with air. When used in combination with an ordinary cigarette, the resulting cigarette comprises a cylindrical tobacco roll, surrounded with its usual paper wrapper, and a filter. The filter is spacedly mounted at one end of the tobacco roll to define a hollow cylindrical inner space therebetween. Inside the hollow cylindrical inner space, there is a porous disc, in which the opposite faces are preferably both concave. This disc is positioned substantially half-way between the end of the cylindrical tobacco roll and the filter to divide the hollow cylindrical space into a first and a second smoke cooling chamber. Perforations are provided in the walls of both smoke cooling chambers and the perforations can at will be covered or uncovered to cause one or both chambers to become permeable to air. In this manner, when only filtering of the smoke is desired the filter cigarette is used as such. When smoke diluted with air is desired, the first cooling chamber is made permeable to air. Finally, if air exclusively is intended to be inhaled, both cooling chambers are rendered permeable to air thus precluding any substantial inhaling of smoke. The disclosure also relates to a filter cigarette adapted with the above supplementary filtering device.

摘要： A smoking article assembly (100) comprising a smoking article (80), and a tube (10) for temporary affixment to the smoking article. The smoking article comprises a tobacco rod, and a mouthpiece comprising a filter and a tipping wrapper, the tipping wrapper circumscribing the filter and attaching the filter to the tobacco rod. The tube is configured to be disposed around at least a portion of the mouthpiece such that the tube is slidable over the outer surface of the tipping wrapper. The tube comprises an open upstream end; an open downstream end; an outer surface; and an inner surface defining a lumen for receiving the mouthpiece of the smoking article, the lumen extending from the open upstream end to the open downstream end. The coefficient of static friction between the inner surface of the tube and the outer surface of the tipping wrapper may be between about 0.5 and about 0.9. The lumen may be substantially cylindrical and have a diameter that is between one percent and four percent greater than the average diameter of the smoking article mouthpiece.
