    摘要: The present invention describes a medical, supply or transfer lock (120) for a pressure vessel (100) for human occupancy. The medical lock (120) includes a body tube (122), an outer door flange (124) and an outer door (140) in sealing face relation with an inside face (125) of the outer door flange (124). In an embodiment, the outer door (124) has upper rollers (146a) and lower rollers (146b). The upper rollers run on a horizontal rail (160) whilst the lower rollers run on a slant rail (170), which is mounted below the horizontal rail (160). The ends of the horizontal and slant rails (160,170) are curved (163, 172) so that weight component of the outer door is generated to assist the outer door to close. When pressure in the medical lock (120) is increased, the outer door of this medical lock (120) becomes self-locking and self-sealing.

    摘要: A flexible hyperbaric chamber includes a flexible air tight fabric vessel equipped with one opening at one or each end. A mobile door is provided for closing the fabric vessel. A metallic shield is provided adjacent to the opening outside the fabric vessel, the metallic shield defines a support into which the mobile door latches. A metallic collar is provided adjacent to the opening inside the fabric vessel. The metallic shield and the metallic collar cooperate to define a vice device for holding fabric of the fabric vessel. The fabric of the flexible fabric vessel is inserted into the vice device and this is tightened by a series of bolts with a predetermined torque. A flexible containment cage made by flat textile straps is provided. The straps are arranged in a discrete number of radial rings and a discrete number of longitudinal members, each intersection of radial rings and longitudinal members being fixed together to guarantee the consistency of the geometry of the cage. The flexible vessel equipped with the metallic shield and the metallic collar is inserted and contained within the cage.

    摘要: A hyperbaric transfer system which has particular utility in transporting injured divers under high pressure from an offshore decompression chamber to an onshore decompression chamber complex. In its preferred form the system includes two chambers. The first chamber is a smaller transfer vessel capable of accomodating up to two individuals. The second chamber is a larger chamber capable of accomodating more than three and up to eight individuals. One of the individuals in the second chamber may be a medical attendant who can administer aid to an injured individual. Both chambers are capable of maintaining pressures of up to 335 psi, equivalent to a depth of about 750 feet.

The door is in the form of a disc or wafer made of metal or solid plastic material and holds in position a sealing ring having a peripheral groove for receiving one O ring and a groove on the surface facing the door for receiving a second O ring. The door is rolled manually by a substantially radially extending handle. The chamber is cut to receive the door laterally and recessed internally to permit the sealing ring to be moved axially into sealing position in the recess.

    摘要: A portable chamber for hyperbaric and/or hypoxic treatment comprises an open-ended and typically frustro-conical tubular body sized to accommodate at least one occupant, and two end members configured to be respectively received at opposite extremities of the body for closing the body in a seal tight arrangement. The body of the chamber is made of a flexible yet reinforced elastomeric material such as to be collapsible during transport. One of the end members is provided with a door to provide access to the interior of the chamber. The extremities of the body are substantially spherical such as to receive the correspondingly substantially periphery of the end members. When the chamber is supplied with gases during hyperbaric or hypoxic treatment, the spherical peripheries of the end members are urged against the spherical extremities of the body, thereby providing a seal tight chamber. A treatment system comprising the chamber is also disclosed.
