摘要:
A railroad tie plate has a generally prismatic body including a field side flange and a gauge side flange connected by an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion includes a rail seat for positioning a railroad rail. At least one of the flanges includes a protrusion extending in a thickness dimension of the tie plate. A hole extends into the at least one protrusion so as to receive a retaining device, such as an e-clip. The tie plate is made by hot forging, having a microstructure comprising pearlite and alpha-ferrite. The net shape of the tie plate may be achieved by forging without subsequent material addition and without subsequent material removal.

A rail fastening arrangement in which a rail for a rail vehicle is fastened to a base, and to a shim. The rail fastening arrangement includes two guide plates, of which one guide plate respectively is associated with one of the longitudinal sides of the rail, and a shim which is arranged between the base and the rail. The shim, at its top, has a contact area on which the rail is supported, and, at its bottom, has a supporting surface by way of which the shim is supported on the base. The contact area and the supporting surface of the shim, viewed in a section located transversely to the longitudinal extension of the rail, enclose an acute angle. The edge at which the shim is thinner is arranged beneath the rail, fastening of rails oriented at a cant relative to the vertical in the region of points.

A base plate for fastening a rail to a fixed bottom support, having a through-opening which runs from the upper side of the base plate to its underside and through which a clamping bolt having a polygonal head is inserted from the underside, forming in the underside, a receptacle, wherein the head of the clamping bolt is seated. Each side-face of the bolt head has a face for contact formed on the circumferential wall, which extends for part of the length of a side-face of the bolt head, and against which side-face has, planar support. The faces for contact on the circumferential wall are spaced apart from one another. There is formed in the circumferential wall of the receptacle, between each pair of adjacent faces for contact, a recess wherein there is no contact between the bolt head and the circumferential wall of the receptacle.

A notched tie plate insulator adapted to be received within a recessed area of a tie plate of a railroad rail system. The insulator includes a bottom plate having a first side and a second side and a pair of side plates attached to the bottom plate. Each side of the bottom plate defines a notch therein. The side plate includes a longitudinal extending body having an upper surface and a lower surface and defining a recess on the upper surface and a protrusion on the lower surface, wherein the protrusion of each of the side plates is received within the notches of the bottom plate.

An electrically-insulated tie plate for electrically isolating parts of a railroad rail system from each other. The electrically-insulated tie plate includes a base plate having a recessed area for receiving a railroad rail and a layer of electrically-insulating material covering portions of the base plate.

Track-bound transport systems have existed for a long time. The drawback with them is that they can only withstand low load and are vulnerable in varying weather conditions. The purpose of the invention is to considerably increase the load they are capable of supporting and to reduce dependence on changes in weather.

In a method of constructing a rail track on a concrete slab, the concrete slab is poured around anchor members for fixing tie plates supporting the rails of the rail track. The method includes the following steps: suspending the rails premounted on their tie plates above the location at which the concrete slab is to be poured, each tie plate including a base under which is disposed a temporary tie plate for accurately guiding the anchor members, adjusting the position of the rails, pouring the concrete slab up to the height of the temporary tie plates, raising the rails and removing the temporary tie plates, and accurately positioning the rails premounted on their tie plates on the concrete slab in their final position and fixing the tie plates to the anchor members.

A steel tie (20) for incorporation in a rail track has a horizontal rectangular plate (21) for connection transversely of the rail (22) to restrain vertical rail movement and has downwardly inclining margins (21a and 21b) to retain ballast. A web member (23) extends vertically on the underside of the plate member (21). Rail fastening devices consist of a pair of opposing longitudinally extending shoulders (51, 52) adapted to accommodate the rail flange (48) between then. Each shoulder (51, 52) has a downwardly facing abutment surface (77), and a resilient rail clip (53, 153) has an intermediate portion (84, 184) that bears upwardly on the abutment surface (77), an end portion (86, 186) that extends inwardly from the abutment surface (77) and bears resiliently on the upper side of the flange (48) for restraining the rail (22) against vertical movement. An outer portion (87, 187) of the clip (53, 153) extends outwardly from the abutment surface (77) and curves laterally arcuately outwardly and downwardly toward a lower portion (89, 189) that bears on a bearing surface (63) at a region that is offset laterally inwardly from the centre of curvature of said outer portion (87, 187). A further form of rail clip (301) is in the form of a bent rod that is symmetrical about a vertical plane extending laterally of the rail (22). The rod (301) has an inner portion (302) that bears on the rail flange (48), intermediate limb portions (303) that bear upwardly on the downwardly facing abutment surface (77), and outer portions (304) that react resiliently on a bearing surface that form a coil spring on which a substantial portion extends in a vertical plane. A further bent rod clip (401) has limb portions (406, 407) extending transversely of the rail (22) and inner and outer portions (407, 403) adapted to bear on the rail flange (48) and on a bearing surface (64), respectively. The limb portions consist of an upper pair (406) and a lower pair (404), and as a result of upward pressure exerted by the rail flange one pair (406) is displaced into contact with the other pair (404) to provide a load bearing cross section of increased depth providing increased strength and bending stiffness. A rail tie plate (201) suitable for attachment to a wood tie, has a pair of upstanding abutment members (204) to accommodate a rail (22), each having an upwardly facing lower ramp surface (227) inclining from a laterally outer side (202) of the abutment member (204) upwardly inwardly to a laterally inner side (224) to facilitate insertion of a rail clip (53, 153). A rail retaining clip (506) in the form of a bent rod symmetrical about a vertical plane extending laterally of the rail has an inner portion (507) adapted to engage the adjacent rail flange, intermediate limb portions (508) adapted to engage upwardly on a downwardly facing abutment surface provided on a shoulder member (502, 504) and outer portions (511) adapted to react on a bearing surface (512, 513). The clip comprises a contact portion (514, 516) varying in width in the direction longitudinally of the rail (22a, 22b) between the inner (507) and intermediate portions (508). The shoulder member (502, 504) is adapted to contact said contact portion (514, 516) and resist lateral withdrawal of the clip (506) from the rail (22a, 22b).
