A seismic cable coupling comprising connector body, a coupling ring is rotatably mounted on the connector body. The coupling ring includes a ring body having a first longitudinal projection and a second longitudinal projection, the first longitudinal projection having an interior surface including a first angled groove, the second longitudinal projection having an exterior surface including a first raised stud. The coupling ring is a hermaphrodite coupling ring that mates with a coupling ring having a substantially identical ring body.
Abstract:
A connector is disclosed for joining two cable ends. The connector includes a load transfer plug adapted to couple to a strength member in each end of the cable. A connector insert assembly is coupled to an inner portion of each load transfer plug. Conductor terminals are disposed in corresponding openings of the insert. The terminals protrude from the insert. An alignment sleeve holder is coupled to one of the insert assemblies. The alignment sleeve holder includes alignment sleeves for receiving the protruding terminals. A housing element is sealingly coupled to an exterior of each of the plugs. The housing elements are adapted to coupled to each other and to urge the connector insert assemblies into contact with each other, and to transfer axial load between the plug coupled to each end of the cable. The housing elements have rotational and axial alignment features on corresponding surfaces. The housing elements are adapted to be removed from the plugs without uncoupling the cable from the plug.
Abstract:
A plug ejector comprises a solenoid incorporated into an electrical plug. An adapter plugs into a wall socket and presents an adapter socket for receiving the plug. Upon activation by a remote switch, the solenoid projects its armature to react against the adapter socket to eject the plug. The plug may be incorporated into an appliance cord, or an extension cord. The plug may incorporate a GFI protector, or a vibration sensor. Another embodiment utilizes an appliance's on-off switch to operate the ejector.
Abstract:
An electrical geophysical connector comprising an outer housing, a first connection member and a second connection member. First and second coacting electrical contacts are positioned in the first and second members, respectively. The first member includes a rigid outer shell and a resilient inner core bonded to the first electrical contacts. The first ends of the first contacts are positioned in cavities located in one end of the inner core and resilient seal rings are formed about the cavities for engaging and sealing the coacting engagement of the first and second contacts. A dust cap is rotatably mounted with a 360.degree. rotation to the housing and the exterior of the housing is tri-lobed in cross section for ease of gripping.

Abstract:
A protective casing for a three-way electrical connection comprises a cover and two lower pieces. Each lower piece preferably includes a protruding key and a key slot. The two lower pieces mate with one another with the protruding key of each lower piece engaging the key slot of the other lower piece. The keys and slots generally extend a length of the lower pieces and thus mating the lower pieces together includes engaging the keys and slots and sliding one lower piece along an axis relative to the other lower piece. Preferably, the lower pieces are substantially identical. In contrast to conventional tee connection casings, the lower pieces of the preferred embodiment can be mated together without disconnecting any conductors from the three-way electrical connection. Similarly, the protective casing can be removed and replaced with a new casing without disconnecting any electrical connections.
Abstract:
A cable termination for connecting cable armor strands to a cable housing end. Individual wire strands are inserted through apertures in an inner hub and are engaged with the inner hub. An outer hub is connected to the inner hub and the housing for selectively tensioning the wire strands. The outer hub can have apertures for engagement with a second set of wire strands, and can be moved relative to the inner hub to selectively balance the tension in the first and second sets of wire strands. The wire strand ends are connected to the hubs at a selected radial distance from the cable center to strengthen the connection, and different structural combinations between the wire strands and the inner and outer hubs can be constructed.

A combination seismic cable handling loop and electric splice includes a U-shaped elastomer member arranged to be hung on a hasp during transportation and storage, and an integrally formed cylindrical elastomer body on the lower end of the U-shaped member which encloses a splice card by which electrical conductors in the end portions of seismic cable sections are joined, such end portions extending through the outer portions of the body which provides strain relief.
Abstract:
A plug ejector for ejecting an electrical plug from an electrical power supply socket comprises an electronic device having a controller that monitors and senses electrical power supply characteristics and a solenoid, which operates an ejector member to separate the plug from the socket when predetermined sequence in rapid changes in electrical power supply characteristics are sensed. The plug ejector can be incorporated into an electrical appliance or extension power cord electrical plug, which plugs into and is ejected from a conventional power supply socket. It can also be mounted in an adaptor, which receives an appliance or extension cord plug and ejects the adapter from a conventional power supply socket. It can also be incorporated into a module, which is semi-permanently plugged into a conventional power supply socket or incorporated into a wall or other power supply socket. Upon rapid cycling of the appliance's On/Off switch, the solenoid projects the ejector to eject the plug and thus free the appliance or extension power cord from the power supply socket. The plug ejector may incorporate a GFCI protector.
