摘要： A locking bar for sliding closures having a main portion and a shorter hinged portion is described. Mounted on the main portion are two spring-loaded retractable sliding bolts, which mate with pre-drilled holes in the base of one closure frame member. The locking bar is inserted in the track of the other closure member with the sliding bolts engaging the holes, so as to prevent either closure from being opened from the outside by an intruder. However, the relatively short hinged member may be swung to an upright position by means of a recessed finger pull, thus permitting one sliding closure member to be cracked for ventilation while at the same time preventing ingress through the closure.

A weather sealing member of extruded rigid vinyl material and comprising outer and intermediate parallel spaced flanges of uniform width and a web means interconnecting said flanges, the outer flanges having inturned beads adapted to seal against a panel edge at one side thereof, said web means having a surface adapted to seal panel edges at the other side thereof, said plurality of flanges having sealing edge faces adapted to seal against said frame member, and said web means having spaced ports adapted to receive a latch bolt means to adjustably position the panel in the frame.

摘要： A keeper element is shown for insertion in a sill extrusion in which the lower rail of a sash is movable. The keeper is a channel-like element with the terminal edge of one wall having interruptions for mating and interlocking with portions of the sill, such as spaced tabs adapted to extend into weep holes in the sill, or notches adapted to fit around internal sill projections. The keeper also has an upper surface confronting the lower rail in which a number of spaced openings are provided. A latch element is vertically slidable on a stile of the sash, and is adapted to be lowered so it extends into one of the openings in the keeper. In this manner, the sash is releasably locked in any of a plurality of positions, with security maintained because the keeper is locked against movement relative to the sill.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a lock suitable for use with sliding type windows which are constrained to ride within trackways. The apparatus comprises a pair of links pivotally connected having tab portions to provide for manipulation of these two links relative to each other and a biasing apparatus which tends to retard the two links from assuming a position in which one link would substantially totally overlie the other link. Further, downwardly extending tabs provide the nesting area for opposed extremities of the biasing spring which is wrapped in a preferred embodiment around the pivoting juncture of the two links and these tabs ride in the trackway or channel of the sliding windows and provide a resistive reaction to unauthorized opening of the window to such an extent that the window can not be opened in the conventional manner.

摘要： A safe and tamper-resistant lock assembly for sliding glass doors and the like for securely locking a slidable door in a closed or partially opened position. The lock assembly includes a specially configured bracket which is mounted upon the stationary frame assembly of the door unit. The bracket has an inverted J-shaped channel and an elongated wall defining a plurality of apertures including one aperture which is positioned to overlie an aperture in the slidable frame of the door when the door is in a closed position and another aperture which is positioned to overlie the aperture in the slidable frame when the door is in a partially opened position. A specially configured locking key is provided with a cylindrical shank having an arcuate locking cam for lockably engaging the inverted J-shaped channel of the bracket when the shank is inserted into the aperture in the slidable frame and into one of the apertures in the bracket. Desirably, a specially designed impact-resistant grommet is provided for snap-fitting engagement into the aperture in the slidable frame of the door.
