摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming an image on a sheet; a sheet finishing unit arranged above the image forming unit for performing a finishing process such as punching a hole, stapling and marking on the sheet; and an image reading unit arranged above the sheet finishing unit for scanning and reading an image on an original set on a platen. The image forming unit includes a first discharge stacker having a first sheet discharge device, and the sheet finishing unit includes a second discharge stacker having a second sheet discharge device. The first sheet discharge device discharges the sheet in a direction same as a direction that the second sheet discharge device discharges the sheet. The image reading unit scans the sheet in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction that the first and second sheet discharge devices discharge the sheet.

摘要： A sheet supply apparatus includes a sheet supply tray for stacking a sheet, and an auxiliary tray movable between a support position where the auxiliary tray supports a portion of the sheet stacked on the sheet supply tray and a storage position where the auxiliary tray overlaps the sheet supply tray. A sheet supply device supplies the sheet stacked on the sheet supply tray. A sheet detection device is mounted on the auxiliary tray for detecting the sheet stacked on the sheet supply tray, and a tray position detection device detects a position of the auxiliary tray between the support position and the storage position. An identifying device identifies a length of the sheet in a sheet supply direction based on detection results of the sheet detection device and the tray detection device.

摘要： The present invention is to provide a staple cartridge that can offset any discrepancies when mounting a staple cartridge, even if staples are slightly offset to check the occurrence of stapling defects. The staple cartridge 100 of the holding means 200 which is equivalent to the cartridge holder disposed as either a body separate to the stapler unit 300 or unitized thereto, actuates the staple feeds means 202. Even if the position of the staple pulled out from the staple cartridge is offset, this action corrects the offset to correctly set the staple at the driving position thereby enabling it to check stapling defects that occur because of mis-positioning of the staple set position.

摘要： A card supplying mechanism includes a card stacker with a motor-driven rotatable eccentric cam for sequentially raising and lowering a moving member having an oblique, step-shaped card touching surface. A motor rotates the cam to a position of maximum diameter, thereby lifting vertically-stacked cards with the oblique, step-shaped card touching surface. The motor then drives further to rotate the cam to a position of minimum diameter, thereby separating one end of the cards on an oblique card support surface so as to mutually offset stacked cards. A kick roller then discharges from the stacker a bottommost stacked card. The card supplying mechanism provides a reliable supply of cards by virtue of both improved card separation, and reduced load on the bottommost card that is to be supplied.
