    Abstract: This application provides a signal monitoring method and an apparatus, to reduce power consumption of a terminal device. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a downlink signal; and monitoring, by the terminal device, a first type of signal in the downlink signal, where the first type of signal is a signal used to indicate power consumption reduction information, the terminal device does not monitor a second type of signal when monitoring the first type of signal, and the second type of signal is a signal used to indicate data scheduling.

    Abstract: This application provides a method for communicating a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). A terminal device obtains a modulation order, a code rate, or a spectral efficiency, determines an index of a reference MCS from a mapping table based on the obtained modulation order, code rate, or spectral efficiency, and reports the index of the reference MCS to a network device. The mapping table includes one or more mapping relationships between an MCS index and a modulation order, a code rate, or a spectral efficiency. The terminal device may process uplink or downlink data based on the determined MCS, thereby improving data transmission reliability.

    Abstract: A communication method and a communications device are disclosed. A first device in a communications system separately sends, to a second device, responses used to indicate a transmission result of target data: a first response and a second response. An indication manner of the first response is different from an indication manner of the second response. This approach can improve flexibility of a response indication manner.
