Abstract:
A turbocharger system having a compressor housing containing a rotating compressor wheel with a plurality of main blades that define an impeller passageway from an inducer to an exducer. Each main blade has a leading edge characterized by an extension forming a non-planar, conical inducer leading edge, and a trailing edge characterized by a reverse-clip-extension forming a non-cylindrical, conical exducer trailing edge.
Abstract:
A turbocharger system having a compressor housing containing a rotating compressor wheel with a plurality of impellers that define an impeller passageway from an inducer to an exducer. The compressor housing includes an annular upstream housing-portion forming an upstream shroud-wall, and a downstream housing-portion forming a downstream shroud-wall. The a rib supports the upstream housing-portion with respect to the downstream housing-portion such that they are respectively disposed to form an annular bypass port into the impeller passageway between the upstream and downstream shroud-walls. The rib extends along a non-axial path within the bypass passageway.
Abstract:
A centrifugal compressor for compressing a fluid comprises a compressor wheel having a plurality of circumferentially spaced blades, and a compressor housing in which the compressor wheel is mounted. The compressor housing includes an inlet duct through which the fluid enters in an axial direction and is led by the inlet duct into the compressor wheel, and a wheel shroud located radially adjacent the tips of the blades. A bleed port is defined in the wheel shroud at a location intermediate the leading and trailing edges of the blades for bleeding off a bleed portion of the fluid being compressed by the compressor wheel. A converging injection nozzle is defined in the duct wall upstream of the leading edges of the blades for injecting the bleed portion of the fluid back into the main fluid flow stream approaching the compressor wheel.
Abstract:
A compressor for a turbocharger comprising: a compressor wheel having compressor blades and being mounted for rotation on a shaft a shroud mounted adjacent the wheel and defining a gas flow path between the shroud and the blades from a compressor inlet to a diffuser outlet; wherein in cross-section the shroud has a surface in the flow path with a profile which includes a section with a smoothly curving surface with a smoothly curving surface and at least one relative discontinuity.
Abstract:
A multimedia decoder unit having error concealment and fast muting capabilities. The audio decoder provides error concealment using a dynamic recovery delay that is based on the error rate of an input digital bitstream and also uses frame repeating. The decoder allows fast audio muting whereby audio can be muted within two audio frames of a mute signal that immediately freezes the video frame, e.g., a channel change. With respect to the dynamic recovery delay, a template of fixed length is used to inspect the last frames within the template. If error is found, then the error sum is used as an index into a table length which provides a dynamic template length. Error within the dynamic template length is computed and if larger than a tolerance, the current frame is muted. This allows the recovery delay to be adaptive and based on the error rate while still allowing mute merging. Muting the current frame can be achieved by repeating the previous frame but the delay data of the last block of the previous audio frame is added to the first block of the repeated audio frame to provide a smooth frame interface. In response to a mute command, the decoder zeros the audio output bitstream stream to provide zero frames at the audio output buffer (AOB). In addition, the decoder also directly zeros audio frames in the AOB that lie between its the read and write pointers to guarantee that only two frames of audio be played after the mute signal.
