摘要： A display device having an on-screen display (OSD) function receives a YUV video signal such as the camera video signal or broadcast video signal of YUV format from a camera or recording medium, receives an RGB-OSD signal from a circuit device (serial interface) of another system different from this YUV video signal, causes a memory within an OSD processor to store the OSD signal, converts an RGB video signal resulting from conversion of the YUV video signal to a panel-matched RGB video signal synchronized with a display synchronization signal, reads a panel-matched RGB OSD signal from the memory of the OSD processor in synchronism with this display synchronization signal, composes those RGB video signal and OSD signal, using an OSD composer, and supplies the resulting RGB composite video signal and the display synchronization signal to a display panel.

摘要： In a display apparatus of a hold type represented by a TFT liquid crystal display, blurring of dynamic picture when the dynamic picture is displayed is improved. One frame is divided into dark fields and light fields. A dark brightness gradation voltage approaching to display of black as near as possible is generated in the dark fields and a light brightness gradation voltage for compensating the brightness reduced by the dark fields is generated in the light fields. At this time, low gradation voltages (V0P to V20P) or high gradation voltages (V43P to V63P) in the dark or light brightness gradation voltages are set to the same potential.

摘要： A display device such as liquid crystal display device which restrains the entrance of static electricity into a scanning signal driver circuit or a video signal driver circuit includes a pair of substrates, a signal line, a capacitance line and a counter voltage line formed on one substrate of the pair of substrate, a pixel including a thin film transistor connected to the signal line, a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor and a counter electrode connected to the counter voltage line, a driver circuit formed on the one substrate and connected to the signal line and an interconnection layer disposed between the pixel and the driver circuit. At least one of the capacitance line and the counter voltage line is connected to the interconnection layer between the driver circuit and the pixel.

摘要： A display device, which is capable of performing gamma correction of a video signal voltage applied to respective pixels, includes a drive circuit which supplies a video signal voltage to a plurality of video signal lines. The drive circuit includes a storage circuit which stores display data inputted from the outside, a reference data generating circuit which generates reference data, a ramp voltage generating circuit, a plurality of comparing circuits which compare display data stored in the storage circuit and reference data generated by the reference data generating circuit, and a plurality of sampling circuits which sample the ramp voltage based on a result of comparison by the comparing circuit and which output the sampled ramp voltage as a video signal voltage to respective video signal lines, wherein the reference data generated by the reference data generating circuit is changed non-linearly with respect to time.

摘要： A demultiplexer circuit selects one of data signals, which are sent via an output port of a data driver circuit, on a time division basis, and distributes the data signals to data lines. For high-resolution display, the demultiplexer sequentially distributes data signals to associated data lines. For low-resolution display, the demultiplexer distributes identical data signals to data lines or parts of the data lines. Gate driver circuits each sequentially drive scan lines for high-resolution display, and concurrently or temporarily concurrently drive the scan lines for low-resolution display.

Among pixels whose switching elements sw become an On state owing to a selection voltage from a gate line G, switching elements ctl of pixels for which display signals are not rewritten are turned off not to apply a display signal to liquid crystal cells of those pixels. And pixels for which display signals are to be rewritten, the horizontal display control circuit 109 applies a rewrite selection signal to those pixels to turn on switching elements ctl of those pixels. Thus, applying display signals that are outputted from a signal circuit and correspond to those pixels having the switching elements ctl turned on to liquid crystal cells of those pixels, display signals are rewritten.
