    摘要: A demultiplexer circuit selects one of data signals, which are sent via an output port of a data driver circuit, on a time division basis, and distributes the data signals to data lines. For high-resolution display, the demultiplexer sequentially distributes data signals to associated data lines. For low-resolution display, the demultiplexer distributes identical data signals to data lines or parts of the data lines. Gate driver circuits each sequentially drive scan lines for high-resolution display, and concurrently or temporarily concurrently drive the scan lines for low-resolution display.

    摘要: In a display device using an RGB time division drive system in which RGB data to be supplied to display pixels of three colors RGB are subjected to time-division multiplexing and input to a liquid crystal panel unit, (1) data are input to the liquid crystal panel unit alternately in the order of RGB and BGR every line signal, and a selection signal SC which is in the on-state at a break of one line period is kept in the on-state until the next line period. In addition, (2) over a partial non-display period in partial display, selection signals SA, SB and SC are always in the off-state and an equalize signal EQG is in the on-state.

    摘要: A display device displays corrected externally-supplied video signals, and includes plural pixels, a scanning driver and a signal driver which applies display voltages to signal lines coupled to the pixels. The signal driver includes a first converter which converts a format of the externally supplied video signals into a first format, a memory which stores the video signals from the first converter temporarily, a correction circuit which computes correction values based upon the video signals from the first converter and the video signals in the memory and corrects the video signals from the first converter based upon the correction values, and a second converter which converts the first format of the video signals from the correction circuit to a format of the display voltages. The memory stores the correction values also, and the correction circuit corrects the video signals in the memory based upon the correction values in the memory.

    摘要: A display device displays corrected externally-supplied video signals, and includes plural pixels, a scanning driver and a signal driver which applies display voltages to signal lines coupled to the pixels. The signal driver includes a first converter which converts a format of the externally supplied video signals into a first format, a memory which stores the video signals from the first converter temporarily, a correction circuit which computes correction values based upon the video signals from the first converter and the video signals in the memory and corrects the video signals from the first converter based upon the correction values, and a second converter which converts the first format of the video signals from the correction circuit to a format of the display voltages. The memory stores the correction values also, and the correction circuit corrects the video signals in the memory based upon the correction values in the memory.

    摘要: A processing portion for conversion from RGB to RGBW includes a W generating circuit, a sub-pixel rendering circuit, a W intensity calculating portion which transmits a W intensity setting value to a W generating circuit, and a low power backlight control circuit which expands data on the basis of the RGBW pixels generated by the sub-pixel rendering portion and lowers the backlight in accordance with the amount by which the data is expanded. The inputted RGB data is used as the RGBW data with the W intensity calculated by the W intensity calculating portion. A backlight control signal is generated based on the amount of data expansion in the sub-pixel rendering portion. Deterioration (darkness) of image quality due to a reduction in the brightness of a single color as a result of the conversion from RGB pixels to RGBW pixels is prevented and a reduction in the power is achieved.

A signal having an inverted phase to an input pulse is applied to the reset signal generating circuit. An output of the reset signal generating circuit is supplied to gate terminals of the transistors, thus realizing reliable turning ON or OFF the discharge circuit.
