    摘要: The present invention provides an array display apparatus in which multiple light-emitting tubes each having a fluorescent substance layer inside are aligned and a discharge is generated within these multiple light-emitting tubes, whereby the fluorescent substance layers within the light-emitting tubes are caused to emit light thereby to display an image. The array display apparatus displays an image of uniform luminance irrespective of the planar shape of a display surface when image data representing a uniform image is inputted.

    摘要: A large-scale display device having a plurality of display units which each include a plurality of elongated plasma tubes each filled with a discharge gas, and at least one pair of display electrodes disposed outside the plasma tubes, voltage applying means which applies a drive voltage to the display electrodes to cause electric discharge in the plasma tubes for display.Vertically adjoining ones of the display units respectively have adjoining portions which are offset thicknesswise from each other for prevention of contact between the plasma tubes of the vertically adjoining display units. The voltage applying means is disposed away from the adjoining portions of the vertically adjoining display units.

    摘要: Undue power consumption is reduced in the capacitance between data electrodes during addressing in a display panel. The power consumption associated with the capacitance is reduced to half as compared with the conventional panel, because the current associated with the discharge of the capacitance is independent of the power supply in the case of a combination of “L reset”, where the capacitance between data electrodes is discharged through a backward current path on the current sink terminal side, and “H reset”, where the capacitance between data electrodes is discharged through a backward current path on the current supply terminal side.

    摘要: A method for driving an AC type plasma display panel is provided in which time necessary for addressing can be shortened without deteriorating stability of a display. Before the addressing, a reset process is performed by applying an increasing waveform voltage between a reference potential line and a scan electrode so as to equalize charge in all cells. In the addressing, a selection voltage Vya1 having the same polarity as a final applied voltage Vyr2 in the reset process and an absolute value larger than the voltage Vyr2 by a potential difference &Dgr;Vy is applied between a scan electrode corresponding to a selected row and the reference potential line.

    摘要: This invention provides a plasma tube array-type display sub-module that realizes one seamless large screen of a display device and prevents degradation in quality of an image to be displayed on the large screen. The electromagnetic wave shield layer is formed so as to extend beyond an effective display region over, where the plurality of plasma tubes is arranged on one side of the front-side supporting sheet. Moreover, at least one further function layer is formed only over the effective display region. The front-side supporting sheet with display electrodes and the electromagnetic wave shield layer is bent toward the back direction along a side end of the effective display region in order to join plasma tube array-type display sub-modules.

    摘要: In order to reduce aliasing as much as possible in a display apparatus that has a delta arrangement type screen, an image filter for performing a neighborhood operation is incorporated as a previous stage of a screen driving circuit. The image filter realizes low pass filtering including space frequency limitation in the diagonal direction that is suitable for a display on the delta arrangement type screen. Coefficients that constitute the filter matrix are optimized so that frequency components that exceed a Nyquist limit in the delta arrangement are suppressed. Coefficients that give optimal filter characteristics for any scale of filter matrix are defined by an expression.
