    摘要: Channel state information (CSI) operations are disclosed with regard to elevation beamforming (EB)/full dimension (FD) multiple input, multiple output (ED/FD-MIMO) operations. With CSI processing associated with multiple CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources, ambiguities may arise in determining the CSI reporting type and rank. CSI reporting type may be determined using a last reported beam selection indicator (BI) or, in the absence of a BI, may be determined according to a predefined rule. When rank and BI are reported separately and rank is absent, user equipment may determine a default reference rank for CSI reporting based on either or both of previously reported rank or BI. When rank and BI are jointly reported, encoding schemes with fixed bitwidths determined based on either CSI-RS processes or resources may be used to enhance decoding. CSI-RS antenna ports, processes, or resources may also be used in determining application of CSI processing relaxation.

    摘要: Enhanced Machine Type Communications (eMTC) is a wireless communication technology with reduced system bandwidth. To improve spectral efficiency, user equipment (UE) is configured to receive first downlink control information (DCI) from a base station. The first DCI indicates a resource block (RB) sized frequency allocation for the UE. Additionally, the UE is configured to receive second DCI from the base station. The second DCI indicates a sub RB sized frequency allocation for the UE. The UE is configured to transmit a plurality of uplink data transmissions to the base station in a variable frequency allocation such that the plurality of uplink data transmissions switches between using the RB sized frequency allocation and the sub RB sized frequency allocation. Thus, by using the sub RB sized frequency allocation, more UEs can be allocated to the same RB without lowering the data rate thereby improving total uplink capacity.

The UE and BS may use a communication configuration based at least in part on a precoding matrix indicator recovered from the compressed precoding matrix indicator.     摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a base station may implement polar coding to generate codewords for transmission, for example, in a physical broadcast channel (PBCH). The base station may identify a subset of the bandwidth allocated for PBCH transmission (e.g., corresponding to a bandwidth for a synchronization signal), and may assign sub-channels to information bits based on the identified bandwidth subset. The base station may generate a codeword based on the assigned sub-channels, and may map a subset of encoded bits for the codeword to the subset of the bandwidth such that the subset of encoded bits includes bits corresponding to the assigned subchannels for the information bits. A user equipment (UE) may receive the encoded bits in the subset of the bandwidth, and may decode the subset of encoded bits to determine the information bits.

    摘要: Dynamic reconfiguration of CSI-RS resources for CSI reporting is described for full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) systems. While a larger number of channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) resources with independent resource configuration are configured and associated with a CSI process, only a subset of resources that are activated by additional signaling are used for CSI measurement and reporting. The set of activated CSI-RS resources may include only a single CSI-RS resource. Both periodic and aperiodic CSI reporting may then be based on the same set of the activated CSI-RS resources. Medium access control (MAC) control elements may be used to provide activation/deactivation of the CSI-RS resources. Additionally, CSI reporting may be based on both the activated CSI-RS resources and the associated number of antenna ports.
