    摘要： A bookbinding apparatus which makes it possible to shorten a time period required to heat an adhesive when the power of the bookbinding apparatus is turned on again. A glue preparation section heats glue. A glue applying section applies the heated glue to a recording sheet bundle. A CPU of the bookbinding apparatus determines at the power-on of the apparatus whether or not there is a recording sheet bundle to which glue is to be applied within the apparatus. When there is no such recording sheet bundle, the glue applying section applies glue to a recording sheet bundle after the temperature of the glue has reached a first target temperature, whereas when there is such a recording sheet bundle, the glue applying section applies the glue to the recording sheet bundle after the glue temperature has reached a second target temperature lower than the first target temperature.

    摘要： A sheet buffer apparatus which retains a sheet to be conveyed to a post-processing unit configured to perform post-processing for a sheet, the apparatus comprises: a buffer unit configured to perform buffer processing to retain a sheet to be conveyed to the post-processing unit and overlay the sheet to be retained and a succeeding sheet; a determination unit configured to determine whether a sheet is inhibited from the buffer processing by the buffer unit; and a control unit configured, when the determination unit determines that the sheet succeeding the sheet to be retained is a sheet for which the buffer processing is inhibited, to control the buffer unit not to perform the retaining of the sheet to be retained.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus capable of efficiently performing an image forming processing even in a case where a post-processing apparatus performs a post-processing during a both-sides printing. A first time period needed by a first both-sides image forming processing and a second time period needed by a second both-sides image forming processing are computed in a case where a post-processing unit performs a post-processing on a recording sheet formed images on both sides thereof. The first time period and the second time period is compared, and any one of the first both-sides image forming processing and the second both-sides image forming processing is selected based on the comparison.

    摘要： A sheet conveying apparatus includes first and second conveying paths. The first conveying path is configured to receive a sheet from a device connected at an upstream side in a sheet conveying direction so as to transfer the sheet to a device connected at a downstream side in the sheet conveying direction. The second conveying path intersects with the first conveying path. A controller switches between a first operation mode and a second operation mode. In the first operation mode, the sheet is conveyed along the first conveying path, and in the second operation mode, the sheet is conveyed along the second conveying path. The controller controls a sheet conveying operation in the first operation mode or the second operation mode in accordance with the state of the sheet on the second conveying path.
