摘要： A process for preparing a device containing a continuous, semi-transparent conductive layer including providing a substrate, applying to the substrate a coating containing a dispersion of conductive particles having an average particle size less than about 1 micrometer and having an acidic or neutral outer surface in a basic solution containing a film forming polymer dissolved in a solvent, and drying the coating to remove the solvent and form the continuous, semi-transparent conductive layer. The article prepared by this process may be used in an electrophotographic imaging process.

摘要： An electrostatographic imaging member and an electrophotographic imaging process for using the imaging member are disclosed in which the imaging member comprises a substrate and an electroconductive layer, the imaging member comprising a polymeric acrylamine compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein n is between 5 and about 5,000,m is 0 or 1,y is 1, 2 or 3,Z is selected from certain specified aromatic and fused ring groups,Ar is selected from certain specified aromatic groups,Ar' is selected from certain specified aromatic groups, andX' is alkylene radical selected from the group consisting of alkylene and isoalkylene groups containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms.The imaging member may comprise a substrate, charge generation layer and a charge transport layer.

摘要： Photoconductive compositions comprising an insulating polymeric matrix and a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is --H or --CN;R', r", r'" and R.sup.iv are independently selected from an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from about 1 - 10 carbon atoms; phenyl; or substituted phenyl wherein said substituents are capable of releasing electrons to relatively electron deficient centers within the compound; amino; diarylamino; dialkylamino or alkoxy; n can range from 0 up to the potential number of positions of substitution on the aromatic ring system. These compositions have good spectral response in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum and are suitable for use in electrostatographic imaging members and methods.

The method involves exposing in an imagewise manner a mixture of a halogenated polymer having halogen atoms on alternating carbon atoms and a strong organic electron acceptor to actinic radiation to induce dehydrohalogenation of the polymer. The exposed composition is then subjected to heat in order to provide a visible image.
