The apparatus further comprises a turning mechanism (102, 106, 108, 110, 112) for moving the second edge of the curtain in the first direction towards the interior of the animal shelter and in the second direction away from the interior of the animal shelter. Preferably, the turning mechanism comprises swinging arms (110), that can be arranged to the upper edge of the feeding aperture. The second edge of the first curtain is moved by changing the position of the swinging arms.

摘要： An improved cattle feeding system and shelter. The shelter has a building foundation frame extending upwardly from the ground with an awning frame extending upwardly from the foundation frame and over it. This allows for an awning to be placed over the shelter frame to at least partially enclose it. The awning has a portion which is optionally opened to selectively allow air ventilation or catching the warmth of a southern sun exposure. The shelter has a drover's alley gate configuration which may be placed within the interior of the building to help control animal movements. The entire system is built on a partial cement floor of a configuration which enhances cleanliness inside of the shelter.

摘要： The invention relates to a feeding apparatus (100) used for feeding animals, such as cattle, in an animal shelter (50). The apparatus is arranged in connection with a feeding aperture (110) in the wall of the animal shelter, and it includes an air-permeating first wall (104) and an air-restricting second wall (106) together with a trough (102) for the dispensed feed. The first and second wall can be moved in front of the feeding aperture, in which case the feeding aperture is closed, and away from the feeding aperture, in which case the feeding aperture is open. A feed cover (108) has been placed onto the lower edge of the first wall in such a way that it covers part of the feed in the trough. Preferably the feed cover is a flexible structure made out of rubber, the free edge of which is equipped with an edge reinforcement (116). The first wall is fastened from its upper edge to the upper edge of the feeding aperture with hinges (112). The second wall is a sheet-like structure, which is thermally insulated and at least partially transparent, and it is fastened onto a support bar (120), which rotates around its longitudinal axis, the support bar being positioned into the upper edge of the feeding aperture. The second wall can also be a pull curtain fastened onto the first wall. A refrigeration system can be arranged in connection with the trough for preventing the feed in the trough from warming up.

摘要： An improved cattle feeding system and shelter to maintain cattle in their thermo neutral zone. The shelter has a building foundation frame extending upwardly from the ground with an awning frame extending upwardly from the foundation frame and over it. This allows for an awning to be placed over the shelter frame to at least partially enclose it. The awning has a portion which is optionally opened to the south and optionally opened to the north to selectively allow air ventilation or catching the warmth of a southern sun exposure it also defines a chimney in the roof area and draft gap in the north wall. The awning also has a portion that can extend outwardly to the south, as well as retract. Vertically extendable and retractable awning closures are over the east and west ends of the frame to form selective entrances and exits. The entire system is built on a partial cement floor and a deep bedded area on a limestone pack and is of a configuration which enhances cleanliness inside of the shelter. The Drover's Alley allows cattle to be sorted and moved inside the shelter and to be restrained on the bedding pack while concrete alley is scraped.
