摘要: The present application is directed to a system and processing method for fractionating pre-formed forage hay bales into a fractionated leaf portion and a fractionated stem portion. More particularly, the system involves grinding, chopping and shredding bales, and fractionating the chopped and shredded bales using a shaker table and grate assembly, into a fractionated leaf portion and a fractionated stem portion using a shaker table. The resulting fractionated leaf portion and fractionated stem portion can then be further processed into pellets for animal feed products, or the fractionated stem portion can be re-baled. Pelletization includes customizing the size of the pellets and the addition of additives to the pellets according to customers specifications for customized animal feed products. Pellets derived from the fractionated leaf portion and the fractionated stem portion are then packaged, typically in bags, for storage and transport.

摘要: Methods of feeding ruminants involve positioning the feed blocks in a pasture accessible to the ruminants. The feed block may have a total fat content of about 7 wt % to 33 wt % and an intake modifier to control intake of the feed blocks. High fat pellets having a high total fat content provide at least a portion of the fat in the high fat feed blocks. The methods control a rate of ingestion of high fat feed blocks by ruminants while not negatively affecting performance, and in some instances, ingestion of the blocks results in improved performance.

The blocks are formed by blending a pourable composition having a viscosity of at least 1000 cP at 57° C. with high fat pellets having total fat content of at least 40 wt % based on pellet weight, where the pellets include at least one fat having a melt temperature of greater than 60° C. Also disclosed are feed blocks formed by the methods.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for producing a pet chew product by a single injection molding cycle, comprising the steps of providing a thermoplastic starch mixture; converting said mixture into a thermoplastic starch-based melt; injecting the resulting thermoplastic melt comprising said optional blowing agent in a mould cavity while partially opening the mould during melt injection; allowing the thermoplastic melt in contact with the mould cavity wall to at least partially cool and set thereby forming the outer skin of a first density or hardness; partially opening the mould during melt cooling to allow gas expansion in the non-cooled core of the injected thermoplastic melt and formation of a foamed core of a second density or hardness; allowing the melt to cool and set, and ejecting the pet chew product from the mould cavity.

摘要: An animal feed product disclosed herein has a feed mixture disposed in a container, where the feed mixture has a plurality of animal feed particles and seed butter coating each of the animal feed particles. A removable cover is coupled to the container over the cavity to encase the feed mixture. A method disclosed herein relates to heating a seed butter to reduce its viscosity. Animal feed particles are translated through a spraying region and each of the animal feed particles are coated with the heated seed butter to form a seed mixture. The seed mixture is deposited in a container defining a cavity and the feed mixture is compressed in the cavity. Other embodiments are described.
