摘要： A lever and rack-type fastener assembly for sports footwear includes a lever assembly having a hooking member that is movably between an open position and a closed position for securing the footwear about the user's foot or ankle. A conformable segmented rack assembly is configured to engage the hook member. The segmented rack assembly includes a flexible cable, and a plurality of rack segments that is fixedly attached to the cable, wherein the cable provides a hinged joint between adjacent rack segments. Each of the rack segments includes a plurality of teeth. In some embodiments, an attachment plate clamps the rack members to the cable, in other embodiments, the rack members are formed with a crimpable channel for fixing the rack members to the cable.

摘要： A controlled-release fastening device including a toothed strap with pitched toothing, a base on which is mounted at least one main hook pivotal with respect to the base between a retaining position, in which the hook is selectively engaged between contiguous teeth of the toothing in order to hold the strap in one direction with respect to the base, and a release position, in which at least one hook is disengaged from the strap, allowing the sliding thereof relative to the base. A ratchet is mounted on the base for the gradual release of the strap by one or more teeth at a time. The ratchet including a first and a second hook mutually spaced by a non-integral multiple of the toothing pitch and capable of alternately engaging the toothing during controlled release of the strap. The first hook of the escapement ratchet mechanism coincides with the main hook and the second hook is structurally independent of the first hook, hinged on the base coaxially with the first hook and operationally connected to the first hook in order to disengage it from the toothing of the strap when the second hook is engaged therein and vice versa.

摘要： A cast shoe sized and configured to be worn on a casted foot. The shoe includes an air-insufflated outer sole formed of a resilient polymeric material to absorb impact. The outer sole has a heel portion of substantially uniform thickness, a tapered toe portion that is thinner than the heel portion, an upper surface, and a lower surface that has a tread pattern and is curved as a result of the tapered toe portion to provide a single rocker bottom function in gait. An inner sole overlies and is attached to the upper surface of the outer sole. A strap located adjacent the heel portion of the outer sole is provided for securing the cast shoe to a casted foot. The outer and inner soles lack any rigid member that would stiffen the sole.

The attachment mechanism joins the panel to the interior of the footwear item at a plurality of points along at least one of a lower edge of the panel and side edges of the panel, such as by joining the panel to an insole.

摘要： The shoe strap changing system of the present invention consists of a base shoe, which includes an upper and a sole. The sole includes a slot, which has a height, a width extending from near the heel portion of the sole across the middle portion of the sole toward the toe portion of the sole, and a depth extending from the medial side of the sole to the lateral side of the sole. The position and size of the slot enables various size straps to encircle the upper of the base shoe, thereby providing stability for the user's foot and versatility of the appearance of the base shoe. Since the slot accommodates various size straps, the base shoe may form the basis for a shoe strap changing system. A user can remove a first strap from the base shoe, and place a second strap through the slot. The second strap may have the same or different characteristics of the first strap. Therefore, the shoe strap changing system allows a user to change the appearance and stability of the base shoe by altering characteristics such as size, shape, and color of the strap that encompasses at least a portion of the upper.
