摘要: A drinking receptacle cover and lip operated valve wherein a cover is adapted sealingly to engage and enclose the upper open end of a drinking receptacle such as a styrofoam cup or the like, the cover being provided with a resiliently hinged valve support normally tending to be disposed above the upper surface of the cover and a valve member fixed to the valve support when the valve support is deflected downwardly toward the lower surface of the cover, the valve member engaging a valve seat surrounding an opening in the cover below the valve support and the resilient character of the hinge structure of the valve support tending to hold the valve member upwardly against the seat and sealingly to prevent fluid from leaking from the receptacle when tipped over; the valve support having an upwardly protruding portion adapted to be operated by a person''s lip for drinking from the edge of the cover when the person''s lip depresses the valve support; said valve and said valve support having vent openings therein with a chamber therebetween so as to provide for the venting of vaporous fluid from a cup over which the cover is sealingly secured; the disclosed method being related to the forming of the valve support in a resiliently disposed position above the upper surface of the cover and then depressing the valve support and fixing the valve member thereto so that it is resiliently held against or adjacent to the lower surface of the cover and sealingly to engage and seal around an opening below the valve support.

摘要: A molded plastic jerry can has a ring insert fitted at its spout. The insert has a nipple starting at about the inner perimeter of the spout and extending first parallel to the axis of the spout and then bending towards the upper part of the rear wall of the can. A long tube is press fitted on the end of the nipple with its free end terminating close to the rear wall. The spout can have a discharge pipe extending from it. The discharge pipe has a vent tube which runs from the top of the nipple to the discharge end of the pipe.

摘要: A removable dispensing closure assembly for an opening in the wall of a container includes an integral plug with a longitudinal passage having an annular flange portion at the outer end adapted to abut against the outer surface of the container wall together with an intermediate portion and an annular lip portion at the inner end sized to insert into the container opening. A flexible tubular member passes through the plug passage and has a normally closed outer end and an open inner end everted over the annular lip portion and back along the periphery of the intermediate portion to form an enlarged flexible end portion having an outer dimension larger than the internal dimension of the container opening whereby the closure assembly can be forcefully inserted into the container opening to effect a fluid-tight seal. Dispensing through the tubular member is effected by selectively opening and closing the passage of the tubular member externally of the container.

摘要: The invention contemplates a particular construction of a tubular plastic neck fitting and cooperating metal container part whereby a child-resistant safety closure feature can be directly applied for controlled selective access to the contents to the container. The safety closure requires a certain resistance to applied rotational torque about the neck axis, and locking formations are provided in the metal-to-plastic interfit such that the required torque resistance is achieved. The construction is also such that the torque resistance is achieved regardless of the angular orientation of the parts upon axial assembly thereof.

摘要: The fuel can with water-separating member comprises a fuel can and a water-separating member. The fuel can may be a container for a liquid fuel. The water-separating member may be a non-planar, internal divider that creates a fuel chamber above the water-separating member and a water chamber below the water-separating member. Water may separate from the liquid fuel because the liquid fuel and the water are immiscible. The liquid fuel and the water may separate into a fuel layer on top and a water layer under the fuel layer. The water layer may lie entirely within the water chamber beneath the water-separating member such that the water is trapped behind the water-separating member when the fuel can is tilted to pour the liquid fuel.
