摘要： The present invention relates to a tap assembly for dispensing fluids from a flexible film bag such as a “bag-in-box”. Known taps associated with such flexible bags do not efficiently dispense fluid from a bag which is partially collapsed and/or can damage the opposite wall of the partially collapsed bag. The tap assembly includes a body with a bore, an actuation member to cover at least a portion of the bore and a piercer which is configured to pivot within the bore and pierce and cut a sterility membrane positioned over an open end of the bore upon movement of the actuation member by a user. The piercer comprises a curved surface which functions to position the piercer away from the plane of the adjacent bag wall after initial piercing.

The evacuation structure ensures that the walls of the flexible container do not block the spout of the container during evacuation of fluid from inside the container. The evacuation structure additionally pivots away from the spout during the filling of the container so that the evacuation structure does not impede the fluid entering the container during filling.

摘要： A package for containing and dispensing of pourable product has a sheet material bag. A dispenser tube is inserted through a seam of the bag, where a pouring spout of the tube extends into the bag from the bag seam and a sealing sleeve extends outwardly from the bag seam. An openable/closeable seal extends across the end of the sealing sleeve, the openable/closeable seal having first and second strips with releasably interengaging configuration. The openable/closeable seal may be opened and the pouring spout everted through the sealing sleeve. The pouring spout is longer than the sealing sleeve and extends past the open seal. The openable/closeable seal is a zipper seal or a slide seal. The package may have a box in which the bag and dispenser tube are contained prior to and after use in dispensing a pourable product.

The enclosure is made of braided or woven fabric. The inner surface of the fabric is coated whereby the fabric is impermeable to the flowable material. The enclosure has at least one closable opening serving as an inlet or outlet to the chamber, and is pliable such that it can be housed within the cargo compartment in any orientation.

摘要： An opening mechanism for use with a fluid filled collapsible container is disclosed. The mechanism comprises an outlet spout adapted to be joined to a wall of the collapsible container, a perforator for opening the collapsible container through the outlet spout and a driver having a passage therethrough. The driver is received within the outlet spout and screw threadedly engaged therewith for advancement by relative rotation thereof to drive the perforator though the outlet spout to thereby open the collapsible container and permit fluid to be dispensed through the passage. A circumferential flexible seal is provided within the outlet spout on one of the driver and the outlet spout to engage with the other of the driver and the outlet spout to reduce leakage of fluid between the outlet spout and the driver as the collapsible container is opened.

Each package is formed of a flexible material and includes a tap fitment having a generally boat shaped base section sealed between contiguous portions of the package. The fitment includes a valve to enable liquid within the package to be dispensed. The flexible package is arranged to be located within an outer carton, with a portion of the fitment extending out of the carton. The packages can be made on an automated form, fill and seal machine or can be made of precursor packages on an automated fill and seal machine.
