摘要： A roller shutter door comprised of a plurality of horizontal panels with interengaged curled longitudinal edges to provide hinge action between the panels. There are strips of resilient material under a compressive load in the hinge joints to substantially eliminate slackness in the hinge joints. The invention also provides a method of assembling such doors, the method involving inserting a strip of resilient material in the curl of a first panel and applying a longitudinal load to the material to cause it to adopt a reduced cross-sectional size followed by the longitudinal insertion of the curl of a second panel into the curl having the stressed material therein and then releasing the load on the material to allow it to urge the curls of the interengaged panels into firm contact one with the other.

摘要： A simple, relatively low cost system for sealing an ordinary roller shade with respect to the window frame sides, top and bottom is provided. The roller shade seal system essentially comprises a pair of edge seal assemblies in the form of elongate mounting strip members adapted to be permanently mounted to opposite vertical faces of the window frame trim, and a pair of sealing strip members in the form of elongate, generally U-shaped channels adapted to sealably engage the latter edges of the shade, releasably mounted to an associated mounting strip. The window shade sealing system is completed by a shade bottom edge seal comprising a rigid bottom strip reinforcing member, a sill sealing strip and a shade top sealing member.

摘要： The invention relates to doors of the kind, which are movable in guides mounted in opposing vertical edges of a doorway, the gasket being intended in the closed condition of the door to bridge the distance between the upper edge portion of the shutter blade and the wall side, along which the shutter blade is displaceable. The door head gasket comprises a stiff ledge (10) extending freely between the edges of the shutter blade, a band (16) of flexible material extending between the fastening points, one longitudinal edge of said band being connected with the ledge, whereas its other longitudinal edge is connected with the door head portion, whereby a seal between the shutter blade and the wall side is maintained independently of the extension of the shutter blade between its guides.

摘要： An interior-use weather seal panel assembly which is easily installed at almost any window or door and openable for access through it includes a flexible transparent plastic sheet supported by a roller at one end, tracks on the sides and a lockable, detachable sealing member at the bottom; direct air-passage with the unit closed is substantially eliminated, by the sealing structure.Because of the support and locking feature, the unit can be installed at any orientation desired; when the unit is fully open, none of the plastic sheet is exposed, so that the unit can be safely stored in place in the sun indefinitely if desired. The sealing member at the bottom has a reservoir to contain condensation sliding down the plastic sheet, and when the sealing member at the bottom is removed for cleaning, the plastic sheet and roller can be removed at the top for cleaning. The sides are substantially self-cleaning when vertical.

The profile strips may be made of acrylic glass or polycarbonate. All surfaces of the profile strips may be polished, and the projection of the profile strips may be substantially trapezoidal. The projections of the profile strips may be fastened in an opening of the chain links by a cross bolt. At the same time, the chain links may be made of substantially light metal, with a guide projection located on both sides of at least part of the chain links. The guide projection on both sides may be in the form of a spacer pin, projecting on both sides, and held in a cross bore of the chain links.

摘要： This invention is directed to a window shade assembly including a telescoping roller and a shade mounted on the roller which may be quickly and easily adjusted to conform to the size of the window opening into which the assembly is to be mounted. The shade at one end includes a first portion secured to the larger roller section and a second portion wrapped around the projecting end of the smaller roller section a number of times sufficient to form a tube having an outside diameter approximately equal to the outside diameter of the first roller section. The projecting smaller roller section is freely axially slidable within the tube. In accordance with a preferred form of the invention disclosed, the shade includes at the side adjacent the smaller roller section a plurality of spaced hand-strip lines, preferably invisible, extending from end-to-end parallel to the shade edge which permit hand-stripping of discrete widths of the shade while the shade is rolled on the roller. In accordance with the invention disclosed, the window shade assembly is conveniently sized merely by severing the shade material at a desired shade width and adjusting the telescoping roller to conform to the desired width.
