摘要： A shutter slat assembly for a storm shutter, the slat assembly including an elongated horizontally extending shutter slat having longitudinally extending formed edges configured to slidably, interlockingly connect with the next adjacent slat for limited pivotal movement between adjacent connected slats sufficient for rolled-up storage of the storm shutter. Each slat has a central port formed therethrough for viewing and light transmission through the port. An elongated transparent panel preferably having a cross section similar to that of the slat includes enlarged edge portions configured and spaced for dependent slidable engagement between and within inwardly facing grooves formed inwardly adjacent to the edges. The transparent panel covers the port while allowing a person to obtain a view and permit light transmission therethrough.

摘要： A shutter comprising a shutter panel and a pair of guide rails including curved portions and holding both end portions of the shutter panel slidably. Each of the guide rails includes straight members comprised of parallel tie plates and interval plate connecting central portions thereof mutually to have a H-shaped section and corner members comprising curved plates succeeding to said tie plates. The both end portions of the shutter panel are inserted slidably between inner half portions of the tie plates partitioned by the interval plates, and outer half portions of the tie plates are mounted to a fixing portions to thereby enable smooth sliding movement of the shutter panel within the guide rails.

摘要： A rolling protective gate for store fronts or the like is formed of a series of horizontally-extending transparent slats interconnected and articulated by a series of horizontally-extending metal rods. The transparent slats and metal rods are elongated, and each extends the full width of the building front access opening in which the rolling gate is mounted. The transparent slats and metal rods are privotally interconnected by means of circular ribs extending along the top and bottom edges of each slat which are received within sockets formed in the metal rods. The entire rolling gate is formed of the connected slats and rods for easy assembly, and the elongated horizontal transparent slats provide ready visibility through the rolling gate when the latter is in its lowered position providing a security closure for the store front.

摘要： An overhead door construction comprising a flexible door mounted on a spring loaded rotatable drum such that the door may be moved to open and close the opening. The door is constructed of panels having edges hingedly connected together, ends of the panels being locked together with keys and being slidable through a guide channel lined with sound deadening material. A resilient wind baffle is secured to the door, and has free edges to allow the central portion of the baffle to spring outward into sealing relation with the wall adjacent the top of the door. Wind locks prevent lateral deflection of the door.

摘要： A device for fitting to a window or other glazing panel comprises first and second parallel rollers disposed at spaced apart positions on opposite sides of the device and an elongate substrate sheet extending between the rollers, the substrate sheet being provided at its upper end with a series of spatially separated optical elements arranged to reflect incident sunlight upwardly. The lower end of the substrate is free of elements and is preferably formed of a material which controls the amount of long wave infra-red radiation leaving the room in which the window is provided. The position of the ends of the substrate can be varied by turning the rollers to variably control the solar energy entering a building and to control the amount heat exiting the room. The device may also provide a sealed air gap across the window to act as a thermal barrier.
