    摘要: This invention provides a convey apparatus capable of conveying a convey target without locally applying an excessive force to it. The convey apparatus includes a convey portion and a medium pressure switching unit. The convey portion has a plurality of medium passages for passing a medium therethrough, and at least part of the surface of the convey portion is made of an elastic material. The diameters of the medium passages can be freely increased/decreased. The medium pressure switching unit controls the pressures of a medium supplied to the respective medium passages of the convey portion to increase or decrease the diameters of the medium passages, thereby generating a carrier wave on the surface of the convey portion. Therefore, according to this convey apparatus, the pressures of the medium supplied to the respective medium passages of the convey portion are controlled by the medium pressure control unit in order to increase or decrease the diameters of the medium passages, thereby generating a carrier wave on the surface of the convey portion made of the elastic material. In this way, convey targets ranging from a flat convey target to a three-dimensional convey target can be conveyed without locally applying an excessive fore to them.

    摘要: A device for repairing cast iron pipe joints comprises a head having a motor for actuating a tool and a body, the head being pivotally connected to the body so that it can be pivoted from an axial position to a radial position within the pipe. In a preferred embodiment, the head includes a motor driving a drill bit. A retractable foot is extended to force the head against the pipe wall to be pierced by the drill bit, following which sealant is injected into a hollow drill shaft and flows up the helical grooves of the drill bit into the pipe joint cavity. Preferably a pair of guide wings maintains the device centered in the pipe and raised off of the pipe floor, and the operator monitors progress of the device through a video monitor.

    摘要: An expandable packer is disclosed for repairing a rupture in an underground conduit. The device includes a first packer section formed proximate a first end and having a first inflatable bladder mounted peripherally thereon. A second packer section is formed proximate a second end and has a second inflatable bladder mounted peripherally thereon. A packer discharge coupling is releasably interconnectable with the first section and includes discharge port means. A packer extension section extends between the discharge coupling and the second packer section. There are means for releasably coupling one end of the packer extension section with the second packer section. The discharge coupling includes means for releasably interconnecting the opposite end of the extension section with the discharge coupling. Compressed air or other gas is selectively introduced into the bladders to inflate the bladders so that they sealably engage the conduit. A sealant is then introduced through the discharge ports, into the conduit, and through the rupture to outside the conduit to seal and repair the rupture.

    摘要: Re-rounding generally horizontally installed, covered, below-ground flexible conduits with eccentrically deflected upper walls, correcting over-belling, and obtaining primary compaction of soil in the vicinity of the conduits. A casing assembly has a central cylindrical tubular gauging portion nearly filling the conduit diameter, a tapered forward nose portion welded thereto and an off-center smaller-diameter cylindrical tubular rear portion welded thereto and providing continuity along the bottom of said casing assembly but recessed at the top and sides. An air-jet-driven ball-type vibrator is rigidly secured to the bottom of the rear portion, and is actuated by air through an inlet tangentially to the vibrator. This assembly is drawn slowly through the pipe at a substantially constant pull force no greater than 1500 pounds, and preferably no faster than 1/2 foot per second, and the bottom wall of the rear portion is vibrated, when desired, in a substantially vertical plane, so as to compact the soil below the pipe and to each side near the bottom while also strengthening the soil arch above the pipe. In some uses water is flowed downstream around and past the apparatus during this time.
