    摘要: A method is for converting image data records in medical imaging. An external service provider connected to a network receives the medical image data in the initial format via the network. He then converts them into the desired target format, and either sends them to the sender and/or to an addressee specified by the latter in the target format, or provides them for retrieval via the network. As such, the user's involvement in converting medical image data records, both in terms of economics and in terms of time, is reduced.

    摘要: An interactive scanning device or system having one or more single or multi-dimensional scanners, an input device, an image processor, and a communication interface, for scanning an object or surface and interactively displaying and manipulating a threedimensional image of the object or surface from the geometrical dimensions of the object or topology of the surface captured during scanning. The communication interface enables the geometrical dimensions of the object, the topology of the surface, or the image of the object, to be transmitted over a wire or wireless communication medium to an end user station having an interactive scanning device or a computer station, or both, for initial or further display and manipulation. A further embodiment of the present invention incorporates a photosensitive or photographic recording device to capture an optical image of the object or surface to superimpose with the scanned image.

    摘要: A method and apparatus authenticates and provides non-reputability for analog messages which renders it impossible for a person, including the recipient, who is not in possession of a (cryptographic) key belonging to the claimed sender, to forge the message. The recipient is able to verify that the sender possessed the correct key, and a third party (judge) can establish whether the message was forged or not. This is accomplished by interposing a digital signature generator/verifier/recorder (DS-GVR) module in the sending apparatus, such as a facsimile machine. The receiver, using another DS-GVR, can verify that a received document comes from the purported sender and has not been altered enroute. The receiver's DS-GVR module can be made to produce a machine-readable record of the signed transmission. Retention of such a machine-readable record by the receiver prevents the sender from repudiating legitimate messages, because it enables the receiver to prove to a third party such as a judge that the corresponding message was generated by the sender and not by the receiver.

    摘要: A data communication system by which simultaneous communication of voice and data is possible without disturbing voice communication. During communication between a first telephone and a second telephone through a telephone line, when a data signal from a computer is fed to a data communication system, the data signal is modulated according to a spread spectrum system by a spread spectrum modem, mixed with the voice signal, and transmitted from a line interface to the telephone line. The signal including the spread spectrum modulated data signal and the voice signal is received in the second telephone. The voice mixed with spread spectrum modulated data signal is heard at the second telephone with only slight noise. Thus, talking can continue undisturbed, because energy of the data signal is spread to a wider band.

    摘要: An input receiving apparatus receives an input such as an order slip transmitted from a facsimile apparatus at a user terminal. The user makes a conversation reservation before the user transmits the image data of the order slip. After the input receiving apparatus receives the image data, the input receiving apparatus switches a connection line from a facsimile receiving apparatus to a facsimile transmitting apparatus within the input receiving apparatus within the same call upon receipt of the conversation reservation signal automatically transmits a switching signal to the facsimile apparatus at the user end and performs a character recognition by extracting a character portion from the image data, thereby preparing a return image data based on the character recognition. When the facsimile apparatus at the user end is ready for receiving the return image data, the input receiving apparatus transmits the return image data. The user confirms his order by observing the return image and then issues a PB signal.

    摘要: An apparatus for transmission, reception and recording of an image, such as a facsimile apparatus, capable of correcting the unevenness in density or improper density resulting from fluctuation in the performance of the recording head of the receiving unit, with a limited amount of data transfer. At the start of communication, correction data for uneven or improper density of the recording head are sent from the receiving unit to the transmitting unit. The transmitting unit corrects the multi-value image data to be transmitted, based on the received correction data, and sends the corrected image data after conversion into binary state. The receiving unit receives the binary image data and effects image recording. The time and cost for data transmission can be reduced, as the correction is conducted at the transmitting unit and the data transmission can be made in binary data.
