摘要: A fuse assembly for rope systems. A catch is a rope segment having a certain failure strength. An accompanying trigger component has a predetermined failure point which can be less than the failure strength of the catch, acting as a sacrificial element to reveal the potential risk of rope recoil. In one embodiment, the catch includes connecting ends, and the trigger is remote from the catch. In other embodiments the trigger includes the connecting ends and the catch is separate from but works cooperatively with the trigger. Additional hold components can accompany the system, as well as first and second chafe protection layers.

摘要: A lightning diverter system is disclosed including an outer rod having a first outer rod segment, a second outer rod segment, and a housing cabinet; and an inner rod having a first inner rod segment and a second inner rod segment. The lightning diverter system further includes a sensor configured for monitoring an environmental parameter and sending a first signal to a processor configured for determining if the environmental parameter fails satisfy an environmental parameter threshold and sending a second signal to move the lightning diverter system between the rod retracted configuration and rod extended configuration.

摘要: A bathing flotation assist device for use by an individual in a bathing enclosure. A buoyant flotation base is conformable to the back of the individual laying thereon such that it will maintain the body of the individual in position along the centre axis of the flotation base. A conformable buoyant head protector and nonconformable buoyant left and right side protection panels are attached, and a removeable fabric cover provides an enhanced gripping surface to the flotation base. By hingedly attaching the side edges of adjacent base elements to each other, the flotation base itself will have the ability to axially flex and bend in the direction of the centre axis of the flotation base in response to the weight of the user, and thus hold or retain the body in safe position in relation to the enclosure axis.

摘要: A bearing system for a rotating turret mounted on a vessel includes upper radial and axial bearings placed on a stiff bearing support ring. The bearing support ring is isolated from deflections in the vessel's caisson. Through the isolation, the radial and axial bearings are less affected by deflection of the vessel for example due to waves. The bearing support ring is supported vertically by a system of hydraulic cylinders serviced by multiple hydraulic systems for redundancy. The bearing support ring alternatively can be supported by an articulated steel structure.

摘要: A threaded connection body is welded to the wall of a pipe, seachest or other flooded cavity within the hull of a ship or floating offshore installation. A sealed cutting apparatus is mounted via a valve unit n the connection body and a cutter extended through the open valve to form an opening in the wall. After retracting the cutter and closing the valve, the cutting apparatus is replaced by an inspection unit having a camera which is extended through the valve and the opening to inspect the cavity. After retracting the camera and closing the valve, the inspection unit is replaced by a plug deployment unit which advances a plug through the valve and screws it into the connection body. The valve unit can then be removed and replaced with a cap so that the plug and the cap provide a double seal to the connection body.
