    摘要: A transmission wheel pressurizing apparatus for always supplying, in a continuously variable transmission of a constant HP transmission type, a pressurizing force and an elastic force to one out of two transmission wheels simultaneously and only a pressurizing force to the other. For securing the desired number of revolutions and axial torque by always applying a variable pressurizing force and an elastic force of the former, an indirect pressurizing system by way of an elastic member is employed. Upon giving pressurizing control to driven transmission wheel, an elastic device and a compression device are combined so that respective pressurizing forces are superposed in series one another, and the pressurizing force to the driven transmission wheel and the number of revolutions of the transmission wheel are made in inverse proportion to one another to realize pressurizing characteristics of negative inclination. Further, the elastic force thereof is always maintained to secure automatic aligning function and stable constant HP transmission to the transmission member, and apparatuses are supported in a floating state for maintaining the elastic force thus minimizing in size, and intensifying for arranging concentratively on the main body, and the entire pressurizing apparatus is made to be in a detachable construction and at the same time, achieving the high-speed responsiveness of variable speed control.

    摘要: In a continuously variable transmission, a hydraulic actuator for axially moving a movable sheave has an outer cylinder which includes a radial portion extending radially from a boss on the stationary sheave. A bearing is disposed abutting the surface of the radial portion. The inner race of the bearing has a large diameter so that the inner race contacts at least a predetermined area of the surface of the radial portion, preferably, the entire area of that surface. One side of the inner race has a recess in which a nut for axially fixing the outer cylinder, the bearing and the like is disposed, thereby reducing the axial dimension of the continuously variable transmission.

    摘要: A continuously variable transmission of an automotive vehicle comprises a primary pulley disposed on a power input shaft, and a secondary pulley disposed on a power output shaft. Each of the primary and secondary pulleys includes a fixed wheel counterpart having a first sheave surface, and a movable wheel counterpart having a second sheave surface. The first and second sheave surfaces face each other to form a pulley groove whose width is changeable with axial movement of the movable wheel counterpart. An endless belt is wound on the primary pulley and the secondary pulley so that the secondary pulley is drivably connected to the primary pulley. The belt includes a steel belt portion, and a plurality of steel elements supported on the steel belt portion and aligned along the steel belt portion. The respective steel elements are engageable in the pulley grooves of the primary pulley and the secondary pulley. In the above arranged continuously variable transmission, the sheave surfaces of the fixed and movable wheel counterparts of the primary pulley has a first surface roughness, and the sheave surfaces of the fixed and movable wheel counterparts of the secondary pulley has a second surface roughness which is rougher than the first surface roughness.

    摘要: An adjustable-slope torque bracket which includes an annular ramp support for holding multiple triangularly shaped camming ramps. The annular support includes a squared "U" shaped annular recess which opens in the direction of the axis of rotation of the annular support. Each of the triangular shaped camming ramps has a base portion which is shaped to fit within the annular recess. The base portion is raised slightly from the bottom of the recess and pinned between the inner and outer walls of the recess by an axle positioned adjacent one end of the base. The other end of the base is free to move relative to the bottom wall of the annular recess when the camming ramp pivots about the axle. An adjusting bolt is threadably inserted through the free end of the camming ramp and is of sufficient length to abut the bottom wall of the annular recess to raise or lower the free end of the base portion relative to the bottom wall of the annular recess. This adjusting bolt is used to adjust the slope of the camming ramp relative to the annular support ring.

If the element side length of a metal element is represented by L, the angle of the V-face of the pulley is represented by .alpha., and the hertz surface pressure between the pulley and the metal element is represented by .sigma..sub.H, the following relation is established: L .varies. sin .alpha./.sigma..sub.H.sup.2. When the hertz surface pressure .sigma..sub.H is determined to be between an upper limit value defined by the wear durability of the metal element and a lower limit value defined by the limit tensile force of an endless belt, the element side length L can be decreased by decreasing the angle of the V-face of the pulley. Thus, the distance through which the metal element can be moved radially of the pulley is increased to increase the ratio range.

The angle of inclination (.delta.) increases, in positive or negative direction, respectively, starting at said central or base surface line about the intersection with the rocking surfaces (41, 42) in the direction to the cone surface (44) of the respective cone in engagement with the respective rocker link element. The engagement surfaces between the rocker link elements and the cone surfaces will thereby be protected by material of the rocker link elements adjacent the engagement location.

    摘要: A variable speed belt drive (1) having adjustable mass and moment of inertia camweights (40, 56) is shown for use primarily in conjunction with snowmobile, golf cart, all terrain vehicle and small automobile engines. In one version, the camweight (40) includes a series of perforations or score lines (47, 48, 49) surrounding a cross section of the camweight arm (45). The perforations define a volume that may be snapped or cut off of the arm (45) with a suitable tool. Also, a series of bores (52, 53, 54) are formed through the arm (45). In order to increase the mass of the arm (45), a molten metal or similar flowable material may be poured into one or more of the bores (52, 53) and allowed to cure. In another version of the invention, a reduced cross section arm (59) serves as a base onto which shims (64, 65, 66) are added or reoriented in order to achieve the desired mass and moment of inertia characteristics.
