Abstract: An Implantable Medical Device (IMD) communicates to a charger device using an RF communications channel. Temperature sensors in the IMD obtain temperature measurements during wireless charging, and the IMD then transmits the temperature measurements to the charger device over the RF communications channel. Using these temperature measurements, the charger device determines whether heat mitigation for the IMD is needed during wireless charging.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for monitoring network connections in a remote therapy system. A method includes transmitting, at a first time, a polling signal from a first device in the remote therapy system to a second device in the remote therapy system, the polling signal associated with a therapy command, receiving, at a second time, at the first device, a response signal from the second device, the response signal associated with the therapy command, determining a network connectivity status associated with the first device based on a difference between the first time and the second time, and adjusting operation of the remote therapy system based on the determined network connectivity status.

Abstract: A trajectory guiding apparatus and one or more methods associated therewith for facilitating precision-guided alignment and implantation of a DBS therapy device in a patient. A pivotally rotatable stage is pivotally coupled to a base support and a vertical support operative to support a slider assembly arranged to accommodate an instrumentation column (IC) containing the therapy device. A first gimbal drive is disposed between the pivotally rotatable stage and the base support, wherein the first gimbal drive is actuatable to cause a first pivotal motion of the slider assembly including the IC, the first pivotal motion defined along a first arcuate path pivoted around a first pivotal axis. A second gimbal drive is disposed between the pivotally rotatable stage and the vertical support, wherein the second gimbal drive is actuatable to cause a second pivotal motion of the slider assembly including the IC, the second pivotal motion defined along a second arcuate path pivoted around a second pivotal axis perpendicular to the first pivotal axis.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for improving quality of a remote therapy session. A method includes capturing, using a computing device, video data associated with a remote therapy session between a patient device and a clinician device, applying, using the computing device, one or more machine learning algorithms to the captured video data to detect a quality issue associated with the remote therapy session, the quality issue related to one of i) a field of view associated with the video data, ii) a luminance associated with the video data, and iii) a contrast associated with the video data, and performing, using the computing device, a remedial action to address the detected quality issue in the video data.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for detecting leakage currents in radio-frequency (RF) ablation systems. An RF generator may be configured to disable an electrical return path from a patient to a ground terminal. The RF generator may also be configured to apply an electrical signal to an electrode that is positioned to be in proximity to target tissue of the patient. The RF generator may be further configured to measure a leakage impedance while the electrical return path is disabled and the electrical signal is applied to the electrode. The RF generator may also be configured to control RF ablation therapy based, at least in part, on the measured leakage impedance. Other features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Implementations for adaptive context sensitive time division multiplexed scheduling and execution of tasks to be performed by a high frequency ablation system, such as an RF ablation system, are disclosed. The implementations may be effectuated in software, firmware, or both. Tasks may be categorized into categories corresponding to task priorities. Time blocks may be allocated during which execution of the tasks may be performed. The time blocks may be divided into time slots. A task may be assigned to a time slot based, at least in part, on a categorization priority of the task. Additionally, each task may be executed according to the schedule delineated by the time slots. An assignment of tasks to time slots may be adjusted based, at least in part, on data received at a high frequency ablation device of the high frequency ablation system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an RF ablation system including a plurality of electrodes, a ground pad, and a signal generator. The electrodes are positioned at respective tissue sites within a patient's body, and the ground pad is positioned on the patient's body. The signal generator is coupled to the ground pad and the electrodes via corresponding channels including a selected channel and unselected channels. The signal generator commutates switching circuits for the corresponding channels to close the selected channel and to open the unselected channels, and measures a first impedance over the selected channel. The signal generator commutates the switching circuits to close the selected channel and the unselected channels, and then measures a second impedance. The signal generator computes a difference between the first and second impedances, and determines the ground pad has at least a poor electrical connection to the patient's body when the difference exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: Stimulation lead includes an elongated lead body having distal and proximal ends and wire conductors extending therebetween. The stimulation lead also includes a lead paddle having a multi-dimensional array of electrodes positioned along a contact side of the lead paddle. The electrodes are electrically coupled to the wire conductors. The lead paddle includes a paddle body and a conductor organizer disposed within the paddle body. The conductor organizer has multiple channels extending along the lead paddle. The channels receive the wire conductors and retain the wire conductors in a designated arrangement with respect to the lead paddle. The conductor organizer has openings to the channels. The wire conductors extend through the openings and are terminated to the respective electrodes.
