Abstract:
A dual modality CT/MRI integrated system for the diagnosis of acute strokes and treating a patient and methods thereof. The method includes: immobilizing a patient or a portion thereof to a support; accommodating the patient or portion thereof in a CT device; scanning the same; placing the patient or portion thereof within an MRI device and imaging the same such that the orientation of the patient or portion thereof in the CT scanning and the MRI imaging is identical or at least spatially (2D or 3D) retrievable.
Abstract:
A neonate immobilizer that includes a lower torso segment having dorsal side and ventral side, an upper torso segment having the same, and a median navel segment in between, having a lateral side. The three segments are interconnected to form a continuous restraining shell along the dorsal side. The lower and upper segments form an access aperture around the navel when restraining the neonate. The aperture is located and configured to permit visual inspection and physical access to the neonate's navel.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a system and method for generating images of at least one Unhyperpolarized portion of a specimen by indirectly hyperpolarizing the at least one portion by irradiating the unhyperpolarized portion by radiation emitted from the de-excitation of excited nuclei of a hyperpolarized substance. The hyperpolarized substance is located in proximity to the specimen. Typically, the images are generated by an MRI/NMR device.
Abstract:
Methods of fastening a cage with a fastening system in an MRD. One method includes: assembling: a plurality of pole pieces; a plurality of side magnets, the side magnets substantially enclosing the pole pieces and thereby defining a magnetic envelope and enclosed volume therein; a plurality of side walls, the side walls substantially enclosing the side magnets; a plurality of face walls and a plurality of fastening rods; and passing a plurality of fastening rods through at least one of the side magnets and at least one of the pole pieces and fastening them in an effective measure, such that the rods physically interconnects at least one pair of side walls.
Abstract:
A system for determining the level of shielding in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus and for real-time reduction of noise produced during MRI data acquisition. The system includes: at least one antenna; data acquirer in communication with the at least one antenna and in communication with the RF pulse generator; and a synchronizer for synchronizing the acquisition of data by the data acquirer with MRI pulses being produced by the MRI apparatus.
Abstract:
A protective cover for an open bore MRI is disclosed. The cover comprises a semi-permeable barrier, MRI shielding, and physical shielding; is at least partially transparent; and it comprises fluid connection means for providing a fluid connection between an inner open bore of said open bore MRI and an environment external to said open bore MRI.
Abstract:
An imaging system having an imaging device for imaging at least a portion of an animal. The imaging device may be of an X-ray computed tomography (CT) type, a positron emission tomography (PET) type, a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) type, or a fluorescence and phosphorescence microscopy (FPM) type. The system also includes: a photon transmitter that transmits photons and that is introducible within the body of an animal; at least one imaging photon detector that detects fluorescence excited within the animal by the transmitted photons; and an image processor that superimposes an imaging device image and a photon detector image so as to yield a combined image.
