    摘要: A system, method and node of downlinking transmissions to an unsynchronized UE in a telecommunications network. The method begins by a node in the network requesting synchronization of the UE with the network. A first transmission of data is sent from the node to the UE prior to synchronization of the UE. The UE then synchronizes with the network by the UE performing a Random Access procedure with the node, thereby triggering a time alignment command from the node to the UE to synchronize the UE with the network. A second transmission of data is then sent from the node to the UE after the UE is synchronized. A response feedback message is sent to the node from the UE. The message is a cumulative feedback message of the first transmission of data and the second transmission of data. Thus, data may be transmitted prior to synchronization of the UE.

    摘要: A higher degree of freedom in the forwarding process can be obtained by investigating which destinations and/or flows that are represented in a transmitting node and selecting relay direction through a wise choice of destination and/or flow. In effect, the forwarding algorithm jointly selects i) a relay node among multiple relay candidate nodes and ii) at least one of a) flow among multiple flows and b) destination among multiple destinations. The transmitting node then selects a set of information heading for a selected destination and/or belonging to a selected flow from the transmit queue, and finally transmits the selected information to the selected relay node. The joint selection process is often based on cost progress, and may be even forward progress in geographic distance. It is however also possible to consider e.g. QoS (Quality of Service) aspects and fairness criteria in the selection process.

The systems and methods may have flexible communication time sharing of one or more nodes taking part in two or more ad-hoc networks. In one embodiment, a Bluetooth communication system includes an inter-piconet scheduling function having a JUMP mode introduced to distinctly identify a node to its neighbors as being shared with multiple ad-hoc networks. The jump mode may have one or more methods for managing the inter-network communications that may include: (1) predetermined fixed starting point and length communication windows, (2) time points with flexible starting points and communication window length, and/or (3) random starting time and length communication windows.

    摘要: The inventors have envisioned a multihop network scenario in which nodes are equipped with advanced multi-antenna arrangements, and recognized the advantage of exploring the presence of such advanced antenna arrangements in multihop network nodes for the specific purpose of determining link cost for routing in the network. A basic idea of the invention is therefore to determine link cost for a wireless link between a pair of nodes in the network based on multi-channel characteristics between the nodes, where at least one of the nodes is configured for operation with multiple antennas to provide for multiple channels. These multi-channel characteristics may for example be determined based on explicit channel matrix estimation and/or the number of transmit and receive antennas or other information on the antenna capabilities of the involved nodes. The determined link cost information may subsequently be used together with additional routing cost information for route determination, and packet forwarding.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for providing Rendezvous point Interpiconet Scheduling (RIPS) in an ad hoc polling based communication infrastructure such as a Bluetooth system in which a PMP node (Participant in Multiple Piconet nodes) belongs to more than one piconet. The rendezvous (RV) points of a PMP node is defined based on information specific to the node, rather than being associated with the links between slave and master nodes. By defining RV points per PMP node rather than per link, the master node of a piconet in the RIPS system is aware of the RV points that its slave PMP nodes have in other piconets. This advantageously allows a master node in the RIPS system to know when its slave nodes will be present in the piconet and when they will not be present.
